Sony is starting to build buzz nice and early for the 23rd official James Bond movie, Skyfall, which is due to hit theatres in November. This week they've released another photo from the movie, following up on the picture of Daniel Craig lounging poolside that hit the web a couple of weeks ago. Fortunately, this one at least has him holding a gun, although it doesn't tell us much else about what is going on.

The shot shows Bond in a futuristic-looking Shanghai, although it's unclear if these scenes are being shot on a set or on location. The producers recently scaled back the budget and decided to rely primarily on UK beaches to substitute for many of the exotic locales. Skyfall is being directed by Sam Mendes and co-stars Javier Bardem, Albert Finney, Ralph Fiennes and Naomie Harris, among others. Does this get you pumped for more Bond? Take a better look at both of the recent photos after the jump.

We've got some new movie posters for you this weekend, including a pretty badass teaser poster for The Dark Knight Rises. If you ask me, it's lending more credibility to the rumours that Batman will actually die, although it could also just be playing up the fact that Bane is "The Man Who Broke the Bat." In addition, we've also got a new teaser poster for The Amazing Spider-Man, a strange one for Will Ferrell's Spanish-language comedy Casa de Mi Padre and that mysterious one-sheet for Joss Whedon's The Cabin in the Woods.

The marketing team behind The Darkest Hour clearly took some notes from the District 9 viral campaign as they have released a handful of very familiar-looking alien warning signs, while the new American Reunion poster attempts to recreate the very first American Pie poster. However, I think my favourites are the Men in Black 3 teaser posters and the new bright red John Carter poster. What do you think of this latest batch of posters? Check out the full gallery after the jump.

A new viral campaign for The Dark Knight Rises that launched earlier this week has culminated in a chance to see the first seven minutes of the film before anyone else. As many people are already aware, the film's prologue will be attached to IMAX screenings of Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol starting on Fri. December 16th. Check out Operation Early Bird to reserve your spot, and after the jump, find out a few more details about the prologue and a full list of IMAX theatres that will have the prologue playing with Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol.

It's been a few months and clearly our latest movie poster round-up is long overdue. Fortunately, we haven't missed a ton of major one-sheets aside from some of the big holiday releases and a few summer blockbusters getting a headstart on their marketing campaigns. This time around we've got poster sets from Snow White and the Huntsman, The Darkest Hour and We Bought a Zoo, plus posters for the 3D re-releases of both James Cameron's Titanic and Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace. We also have a couple of character banners from The Avengers (click to enlarge) and a pair of new The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo posters (no breasts this time, sorry).

In the slightly odd and unusual category, Sony has released four art prints to promote Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance -- impressive, considering that they don't even seem to have the name of the movie anywhere on them. I'm also digging the subtle design of the posters for both Shame and Chronicle, and how can you not love Tyler Stout's latest piece for John Carpenter's Assault on Precinct 13? Which of these new posters would you hang on your wall? Check out the full gallery after the jump.

It's been a few months since we've seen any sort of official publicity for Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises (not that the movie really needs it), but with the holiday season now upon us, you can expect to see a Batman-related marketing blitz from Warner Brothers over the next little while. A new trailer for the film is expected to hit theatres with Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, and this month in the U.K., Empire has a cover story on the film with two exclusive cover photos: one featuring Tom Hardy as Bane and the other with Christian Bale as Batman.

Along with the new photos, there are also a handful of new details that have been revealed about the film including:

The story picks up eight years after events in The Dark Knight

The seven minute prologue attached to Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol is, in fact, the beginning of the movie

Bane is "a terrorist in mentality as well as brutal action"

Bane's mask provides gas that he needs to deal with pain from an injury sustained early in the film

Coming Soon also has scans of several other photos in the magazine. What do you think, will The Dark Knight Rises live up to the hype? And what's that nifty little gadget Batman is holding in his hands? Check out bigger images of the Empire covers after the jump.

If you've been dying to find out how Will Sasso, Sean Hayes and Chris Diamantopoulos look as the iconic Three Stooges, USA Today has your first official photo of the actors in costume. The image is the same one that was used for the silhouette on the teaser poster that was released last week and it looks fairly faithful. Sean Hayes seems to have undergone the biggest "transformation", if you can call it that, but the more important thing will be to see what kind of chemistry the trio has together. Are you looking forward to The Farrelly Brothers' modern interpretation of these comedic geniuses? The Three Stooges hits theatres on April 4th; check out the teaser poster and a full body version of the photo after the jump.

Disney and Marvel are quickly attempting to bounce back from the disastrous Entertainment Weekly issue from last week containing the so-called "first look" at their upcoming all-star comic book movie The Avengers. While the photos themselves were mostly green screen set shots, it was the cover that really seemed to disappoint fans, featuring an ugly Photoshop job that crammed all of the main characters together in awkward poses.

This week they have released six new photos from the film including a couple of action shots, and while they are still nothing to write home about, they're definitely an improvement. Perhaps the most intriguing is the image of Tom Hiddleston, which seems to confirm his involvement as a villain in the film. Surely he won't be alone though... right? Check out the rest of the images after the jump and tell us what you think in the comments below.

I can't say I'm overly excited about Marvel's superhero team-up flick The Avengers as of yet, partially because I don't want to set any high expectations, but also because, well, so far there just hasn't been much to get excited about. The short teaser trailer that was tacked on to the end of Captain America: The First Avenger a couple of months ago was extremely underwhelming, and now the first batch of "official" photos to debut in the new issue of Entertainment Weekly are also somewhat lacklustre. We do get a closer look at Chris Evans' new outfit, and we also get to see Mark Ruffalo looking hilariously intense as Bruce Banner, but other than that, it's just a lot of dull green screen stuff. Is this all it takes to get people hyped for The Avengers? Check out the photos after the jump and see what you think.

It's that time again, folks. We've got plenty of new movie posters to ogle this week including the very first one sheets for such highly anticipated films as Steven Spielberg's War Horse, Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol and... Jack and Jill starring Adam Sandler. We've also got posters for some festival favourites including The Human Centipede 2 (Full Sequence), William Friedkin's Killer Joe, and The Raid (the latter of which was designed by our friend and Movie Club Podcast co-host Omar "Swarez" Hauksson).

One of the most creative posters I've seen in quite a while is Diablo Cody and Jason Reitman's Young Adult, which is done up to look like the cover of a young adult hardcover novel. I'm also digging some of promo art for The Rum Diary, and the one sheet for the documentary Hell and Back Again. Then there's Paranormal Activity 3... I can't believe they're still stuck re-using the same terrible design from the first movie. Which posters are your favourites? Check out the full gallery after the jump.

Time to take another look around the web at some of the latest and greatest movie posters to be released over the past month or so. Now that we're getting into awards season, it's a lot of festival favourites and Oscar bait, but surprisingly many of the designs aren't particularly inspired. Among the classier selections is the first poster for George Clooney's The Ides of March, which offers a delicious Clooney / Gosling sandwich, plus new posters for Moneyball starring Brad Pitt, Lars von Trier's Melancholia and Nicholas Winding Refn's Drive with its striking hot pink logo.

We've also got some mediocre one-sheets for a handful of January and February releases like Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, Red Tails and Underworld: Awakening, but the real highlights include Roman Polanski's Carnage, an intriguing motion poster for the Sundance hit Martha Marcy May Marlene, and a great poster for an Edgar Wright triple feature created by Alex Pardee. Which ones are your favourites? Check out the full gallery after the jump.

Although the San Diego Comic-Con seems to be primarily a place for studios to promote movies with nothing to show yet, at the very least we can depend on getting a fair amount of new poster art to look at. Hey, it's better than nothing! This year's con saw the reveal of teaser posters for a variety of comic book movies including The Amazing Spider-Man, The Avengers, and a whole slew of special edition Captain America posters from Olly Moss, Eric Tan and Tyler Stout courtesy of Mondo. Other major fan-driven projects getting initial one sheets included The Raven starring John Cusack, the upcoming anthology horror film Chillerama, and The Hunger Games.

Personally, I think I was most impressed with the first poster for the upcoming John Le Carre adaptation Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, plus the well-designed posters for Steven Soderbergh's Contagion and Haywire. Oh, and that Moneyball one is pretty sweet too. Which of these new posters are you digging and which movies are you most looking forward to?

Check out the full gallery after the jump.

With teaser trailers for both The Dark Knight Rises and Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows expected to accompany Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 to theatres this week, we've also been given our very first posters for both WB films. The Dark Knight Rises one looks awfully familiar... let's just call it a mash-up of previous artwork for both The Dark Knight and Inception. It would seem to indicate that Gotham City is crumbling now that Batman has become a fugitive.

Other new one sheets in this week's round-up include a fresh poster for The Muppets, a teaser poster for Pixar's Brave, and a series of character posters for Fright Night. Perhaps the most perplexing of all is the first poster for Paolo Sorrentino's This Must Be the Place, which stars Sean Penn as a retired rock star. Which one is your favourite? Check out the full gallery after the jump.
