HBO’s Game of Thrones Season 3 Trailer

Capping off a fantasy-themed month that includes Jack the Giant Slayer, Oz: The Great and Powerful and Film Junk’s own ’80s fantasy premium podcast, the third season of George R.R. Martin’s Game of Thrones will also be premiering on March 31st. To get you in the mood, HBO recently released a minute-long trailer for the new season that hints at some big payoffs from Season 2. From what I remember the last season was a bit slow at times, but I hope that the apparent increase in magical mayhem doesn’t take away from the human drama. Are you psyched for the return of Game of Thrones? Check out the trailer after the jump and let us know what you think.

Super psyched! I’ve read ahead in the books, and the third one is arguably the most exciting. I also think it’s a fine idea to split Storm of Swords into two seasons.
I remember reading that they took liberties with the ages of the characters since the five books take place in a shorter period of time than the actors are aging in real life.
Posted by Jonny Ashley on February 27th, 2013@Johnny, that depends how you look at it. I think there is a time span of 5 or more years between two of the latest books — so that Daenerys’ dragons are full grown, allowing her story to have a relevant continuation.
