Robert Redford’s The Company You Keep Trailer Starring Shia LaBeouf

Last year we heard Shia LaBeouf declare that he was done with Hollywood blockbusters and that from here on in he would be concentrating on more artistic aspirations. While some assumed it was all talk, thus far he seems to be keeping true to his word with roles in John Hillcoat’s Lawless, Lars Von Trier’s Nymphomaniac, and Fredrik Bond’s The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman. Now this week a trailer has arrived online for Robert Redford’s The Company You Keep, another movie that also appears to be taking him into more mature territory.
The movie stars LaBeouf as a journalist who discovers that a man living as a lawyer in upstate New York (Redford) is a former activist and member of the Weather Underground. The man is forced to go on the run, looking for the one woman (Susan Sarandon) who can prove his innocence. Redford was no stranger to solid political thrillers in his younger years, but now he’s also directing and is able to assemble a stellar supporting cast that includes Stanley Tucci, Richard Jenkins, Nick Nolte, Chris Cooper, Julie Christie, Sam Elliott, Brendan Gleeson, Terrence Howard, Anna Kendrick and Brit Marling. The Company You Keep hits select theatres on April 5th; check out the trailer after the jump and see what you think.

Almost had me with the hair, but he’s still awful, and Susan Sarandon is awful in this trailer.
Posted by Jonny Ashley on February 15th, 2013Wow! Redford still at it, almost has a Sneakers vibe to it.
Hey, not a huge Shia fan myself, but the kid isn’t terrible. You can’t just go by Transformer’s because alot of that bullshit’s the Director.
Not even sure why im defending him because i wanted to punch him in the face after watching Lawless, but that film was mostly shit too.
This looks good, the cast is amazing. Here’s hoping Redford still has the magic!
Posted by Danno on February 15th, 2013The trailer looks good, as does LaBeouf’s acting. I really liked him in Disturbia but nothing since. As for all the old farts, I hope they keep it realistic, i.e. not all old people are sweet and old people can’t outrun or outifght young people.
Posted by Bas on February 17th, 2013Com’on Danno. Lawless wasn’t that bad, it wasn’t great but I wouldn’t call it mostly shit either, and LaBeofe was pretty decent in Lawless. Not a fan of his at all, but I give credit where credit is due, he was pretty good in Disturbia as well, the rest of his filmography though I would call shit.
This trailer was just ok, nothing to get too excited about in my opinion, but outside of LaBoeuf the rest of the cast is extremely solid so it might be pretty good based on that.
Is it just me or does Terrance Howard suck as an actor?
