If you’re desperate for a taste of Nicolas Winding Refn’s next film Only God Forgives, this short preview just might do the trick. Although some have been referring to it as a teaser trailer, I don’t know if that’s entirely true. It feels more like a quick mix of footage put together for ET or one of those other lame shows. Still, you can definitely get a sense for what’s in store including some gorgeous cinematography and plenty of Muay Thai kickboxing.

The movie takes place in Bangkok, where Ryan Gosling’s character Julian is running a boxing gym as a front for his family’s drug-smuggling operation. When his brother is killed, his mother (Kristin Scott Thomas) orders him to track down and kill those responsible. The release date is still TBA, but it seems a safe bet that this will premiere at Cannes in May just like Drive did. Check out the preview after the jump and let us know what you think.
