Sweet I was wondering if there’d be a podcast this week. Merry Christmas ya filthy animals!
Posted by Austin in Japan on December 23rd, 2012“Fall on your knees… O hear the angel voices!”
Posted by Tum Tum Tyranus on December 23rd, 2012Thanks for the Christmas gift. Speaking of premium episodes, it will be cool if you guys eventually did the Vengeance trilogy. Keep up the good work.
Posted by Antho42 on December 23rd, 2012@Antho42: Good suggestion. My other favorite movie podcast recently did an episode on the Vengeance trilogy and it was pretty damn good. Give it a poke until the FJ guys come around to it:

Posted by Jason Wein on December 24th, 2012For the person that emailed FilmJunk about moving.
Get out of Florida and move to Canada. Florida is fine to visit once in awhile. Left Florida after the “face eating” incident happened a couple miles away from where I lived. Was in South Florida for 4 years, now back in Minnesota. Florida is a sunny place with shady people.
This will seal the deal for you. Just go to
http://www.crimereports.com
and put in zip code 33314 and slowly zoom out to bar 6.
Posted by Loren on December 24th, 2012Welcome to the cesspit!
Dear Sean,Jay,Greg,and Frankster.
Merry Christmas boys, and thanks for countless hours of entertainment, laughs, arguments, Jay calling Frank out(and mostly winning)even though i’m usually rooting for Frank, cause we all love the poor “Rudy” hatin bastard.
Film Junk has gotten me through many a late work night.
Btw Greg, i have a theory. Frank hates Sean Astin because they’re both so alike.
Frank is Jay’s Samwise Gamgee.
Peace fella’s
Posted by Dan Squires on December 24th, 2012Will there be a GameJunk this year?
Posted by Azimuth on December 24th, 2012Quick reminder: Scrooged is a terrible movie.
Posted by DavidM on December 24th, 2012Jingle All The Way is awesome, I still think it’s really funny. Jake Loyd is the only negative for me.

5) 4-Hour Star Trek Premium (feat. Greg as Kirk, Sean as Spock, Jay as Bones, Frank as Scotty, and a drunk Reed as…hmm, can’t think of anyone)
Hope you guys have a healthy and happy 2013. Peace!

Thanks MrHorse! Fim Junk is supported by a wonderful audience of fine folks and it’s always fun to sit down with Frank, Sean and Greg every week to record a new show… with our without you listening!
Merry Christmas!
Posted by Jay C. on December 25th, 2012Merry Christmas fellas! Lesser podcasts would have taken a week off but not you happy few. Thanks as always.
Posted by Chris Morgan on December 25th, 2012Another fantastic year of Film Junk! Merry Christmas guys – this year has been one of the best Film Junk years.
My one wish for 2013 is to see the release of the first ever Ball Junk episode – with special guest star Jay Cheel interrupting with movie talk.
Posted by Kasper on December 25th, 2012i did regret the fact that you weren’t there this time around, and i always, always, apreciate your wit and all round peculiar humor.
Posted by MHorse on December 25th, 2012maybe not the last comment, but hey. on a frank scale (-10 to 10), it’s a 1 for trying.
plz for christmas or new years resolution give me gamejunk, balljunk, frankjunk and top 5 show kthx
Posted by Henrik on December 25th, 2012Oh yeah, Frank Junk. Mmm, yes please. Half (or whole?) an hour with Frank talking about whatever once a week with guest stars – amazing.
Posted by Kasper on December 25th, 2012What about Frank Drunk? Keeps the letter number symmetry and has a nice ring to it. I’ll get juiced and talk some shit.
Posted by dirrrtyfrank on December 25th, 2012Do it, Frank!
Posted by Kasper on December 25th, 2012How about Frank gets drunk and talks about all the awesome games they have played this year. They could call it Game Junk.
Merry Christmas guys! Thanks for another year of great discussion!
Posted by milath on December 25th, 2012Whenever I would think of Frank drunk, I picture Chris Farley walking around the pool to Van Halen’s “Beautiful Girls”, with Jay trying to push him in the pool, Sean making sure everyone has their drink on a coaster, and Greg looking on in disgust…
Posted by Bryan on December 26th, 2012Dredd may be the people’s sleeper of the year, but Jack Reacher is mine. Great fucking filmmaking right there. Love the director’s quiet approach to the action genre.
Also saw Django last night, which I think is Tarantino’s best. #TheDIsHard
Posted by Tum Tum Tyranus on December 26th, 2012The moment Frank mentions what actor can say, “Who loves ya, baby?” the way Telly Savalas said it… I immediately thought of Dwayne Johnson. Think he could bring much-needed humor to Kojak
Posted by Lori C on December 26th, 2012Greg sounds just like Seth Rogen.
Also, we say “Merry Chrimbo” in the UK as well, but its mainly by people with low social status or Scousers.
Posted by JohnnyBlazed on December 26th, 2012Only fags say “Chrimbo”.

@BarbarianComic
You think your cigarettes are talking to you about Christmas? You’ve clearly been hitting the christmas booze a bit too heavily.
Posted by Gerry on December 27th, 2012How bout that, Chrimbo is actually on the Urban dictionary. http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Chrimbo
Posted by Goon on December 27th, 2012For fucks sake give us some news; this has been on the frontpage for a million fucking years now. Same with the Mad Max news. Where the fuck are you guys? A lot of interesting things have happened and nothing is reported! Tarantino, for example, has again been attacked by Stan -my-butt-hurts Lee for using “Nigger” in Django too often.
Posted by Johnny on December 27th, 2012How did JERRY MAGUIRE not instantly spring to mind during the “has there ever been a big successful movie with just a name as the title” discussion? You need look no further than the star of the actual film you’re talking about! I’m only listening to it now, so maybe someone mentions it later…
Posted by PlanBFromOuterSpace on December 27th, 2012@33 —- Ummm, I’m pretty sure you have the wrong Lee.
Posted by PlanBFromOuterSpace on December 27th, 2012let the guys enjoy their holidays Johnny, they are giving us the podcast, what do you need the news for.. it’s Christmas, and cold in Canada.
Posted by kyri on December 27th, 2012I’ll try to update http://www.reconditepictures.com in the next couple days to give these heroes a break. A Tarantino article is an interesting idea!
Merry Christmas, Everybody!
Anybody think a listener party between Kansas and Texas would be a fun idea?
Cheers!
Scott
Posted by scott on December 27th, 2012@BarbarianComic
No one cares about your fucking site scott, so stop advertising. And kyri, u fucking kidding me? The ppl writing articles are more than the 4 doing podcast.
And “it’s Christmas and cold” is bs. Being that it is cold means they are inside = more time in front of computer. Christmas is at its end too.
And it’s fucking cold in Norway too. So piss off.
Posted by Johnny on December 27th, 2012Hey Johnny, I do about 95% of the posting on the site and I’m taking the rest of the week off. Sorry for the inconvenience. I guess I should put up a post informing people of this fact.
Feel free to give us your thoughts on Spike Lee’s beef with QT though!
Posted by Sean on December 27th, 2012Man, Johnny’s even attacking fellow Norwegians. Better keep an eye on this one!
Posted by scott on December 27th, 2012Thx for the heads up Sean. It’s really unfair of you to do all the news work, but what can ya do, huh?
@scott
Not about me attacking you. It’s about you using this site to advertise your own blog. It’s getting aggravating at this point — and I’m sure not the only one to have mentioned that to you.
My thoughts about Spike Lee: Lee can go fuck himself. This guy accuses Tarantino of entertainment when it comes to the word “nigger” in his films, and he forgets that his films are about as much for the sake of entertainment as Tarantino’s (In fact I would claim that, stylistically, Tarantino’s films contain more art in them than Lee’s films). To be fair, almost everything Hollywood shits out doesn’t take its content seriously. Not even Schindler’s List does it; it has been, rightfully, called a kitschy melodrama. It for example creates suspense (and therefore entertainment ) out of the characters guessing whether or not gas is coming out of the showers. In addition, the film ends cheerfully, when in fact The Holocaust was a tragedy. It’s like Kubrick famously said: “Think that’s about the Holocaust? That was about success, wasn’t it? The Holocaust is about 6 million people who get killed. This is about 600 who don’t”.
Let’s also not forget that Tarantino’s intentions are purely lighthearted; he never means to create serious dramas. All of his films are the most unserious and fun films out there.
Another thing he does is he calls Tarantino stupid, and continues by comparing black slavery with holocaust. Can you believe this retard?
Posted by Johnny on December 27th, 2012Give Sean a break. I’m sure this Christmas downtime will be spent catching up on some gaming so Frank and poor Andrew can stop jonesing and get a Gamejunk episode recorded!
And even if that isn’t the case, everybody needs a break and Sean certainly deserves one for all his hard work on the site and podcast year-round.
Enjoy the holidays, Sean and the rest of the Filmjunk crew – I hope you all had a great Christmas
Posted by Kasper on December 27th, 2012The only role that I ever liked Vin Diesel in was as the voice of The Iron Giant. However, I think he could make a great Kojak.
What about a podcast with Frank and Greg about food reviews called Food Junk? (pineapple soda, Costco hotdogs, drive-in poutine, etc)
Let’s all remember that Sean has a young son now and is entitled to spend time with his family. He doesn’t owe us anything.
Merry Christmas to the Film Junk gang.
Posted by Movie Vigilante on December 27th, 2012Don’t know if I’d call Lee’s films “entertainment”, but the Thunder/Mavs game provided more than enough of that for one night. Happy holidays, Everybody! What a year, huh?!?
Posted by scott on December 28th, 2012love sean, and love film junk. greg is great.
Posted by ANONYmiss on December 28th, 2012Everytine I begin to accept Frank, he goes on another nonsensical tirade. I guess what really bugs me is when he goes to extemes, claiming something is “the best” or “the worst,” and goes overboard with his reasons. I don’t mean to complain, but it’s a pet peeve of mine.
Posted by Brendan on December 28th, 2012@Johnny.
Schindler’s List doesn’t take its content seriously? Seriously? Schindler’s List is a brilliant film.
Apparently Branko Lustig (a holocaust survivor and a producer of Schindlers List) wanted more holocaust horror in the film but Spielberg said he was telling a story.
I was initially disappointed there wasn’t more holocaust horror in it but I guess a catalogue of such horrors would be a documentary.
Schindler’s List told an engaging story with narrative thrust that hooked lots of people and informed them about what happened in the holocaust.
I think that lots of Hollywood films take their content seriously, but sometimes you have to delve into the sub-text of a film to get it’s real views about a subject.
Re Spike Lee, I think that the people who have a right to determine whether the use of derogatory racial terms is appropriate or not are the people who are the victims of such unwarranted slurs.
If I was an African American I’d be pissed off at the use of ‘nigger’ in the same way that if I was gay I’d be pissed off at the use of ‘fag’.
Posted by Gerry on December 28th, 2012Jesus Christ people. Jiro is pronounced “Gee-ro”. No ifs, ands, buts, or Gregs friendses. Stop giving me an aneurysm already.
Posted by Falsk on December 29th, 2012Jiro \j(i)-ro\ as a boy’s name is pronounced jee-roh. It is of Japanese origin, and the meaning of Jiro is “second son”.
Posted by Jay C. on December 30th, 2012Fuck Schindler’s List #teamhaneke
Posted by Henrik on December 30th, 2012i feel no guilt, nor should i about saying this:
no sir, i didn’t like it, the schindler’s list movie.
it looks fake and idealistic, out of this world. the only believable guy there was the crazy one with the good aim. he was an interesting character, very well played. i legitimately hated him; the rest were weak, mear shadows.
Posted by MrHorse on December 31st, 2012THANK YOU.
