This is the End Trailer Starring Seth Rogen and James Franco

In a nifty little bit of marketing “synergy”, Sony has decided to release the first red band trailer for Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg’s upcoming comedy This is the End today — the day before the world is supposed to end. You may have previously heard of this movie under the title The End of the World and before that it was also known as Jay and Seth vs. The Apocalypse (the same name as the short film that inspired it). This is Rogen and Goldberg’s directorial debut and for this special event they’ve assembled all of their buddies including James Franco, Jonah Hill, Danny McBride, Jay Baruchel, Michael Cera, Craig Robinson, Paul Rudd, Jason Segel and many more.

The story revolves around all of the actors gathering for a party at James Franco’s house when suddenly the apocalypse hits. From what we know, the movie is going to be largely improvised but perhaps the most interesting about it is the fact that the actors are all playing themselves. I wasn’t too crazy about the little intro that Rogen and Franco cooked up, but the actual footage from the film seemed pretty hilarious if you ask me. Let’s just hope they don’t get too carried away with action and special effects. This is the End hits theatres on June 13th; check out the trailer after the jump and see what you think.

I have missed them working together ever since Pineapple Express; I really hope they have the same chemistry in this film. They seem to capture the same good humor from PE in this video.

    This. Looks great!

    This looks amazing. Hilarious clip!

ummm other than “I drank my pee for the first time…” the rest of the trailer was really trying very hard to be funny…and for some reason it really wasn’t.

I really don’t understand this obsession with the end of the world.

I think the whole jerking off, sucking dicks, sucking each others dicks, jerking off to sucking dicks, and jerking off dicks while they suck off jerks thing is wearing a little thin.

one of the improv goals is to “talk at the height of your intelligence” …try to take the comedy to another level…I don’t see that here

Looking forward to it, but that preview was less than good.

Very lame, not funny except for the last couple seconds.

Saw this trailer Christmas night when I saw Django Unchained in a full theater. The whole theater was laughing out loud. Good sign. The whole beginning intro with Franco and Rogen addressing the audience I believe had some stuff cut out.
