As we head into the final week of holiday shopping, there are plenty of last-minute releases hitting DVD and Blu-ray just in time to end up as potential Christmas gifts. The biggest titles include Len Wiseman’s Total Recall remake and Paul W.S. Anderson’s Resident Evil: Retribution, along with the Joseph Gordon-Levitt bike courier thriller Premium Rush. Looking beyond that, we also have the well-received musical comedy Pitch Perfect, Spike Lee’s Red Hook Summer and William Friedkin’s Killer Joe. (Take note that a handful of these don’t actually hit stores until Friday.) Also keep an eye out for new seasons of Shameless, Californication and The Life and Times of Tim, and if that’s not enough, Michael Stephenson’s haunted house documentary The American Scream is also out this week, available exclusively through the movie’s official website.
