This Week on DVD and Blu-ray: The Dark Knight Rises, Beasts of the Southern Wild, V/H/S

After a couple of barebones weeks for DVD and Blu-ray releases at the end of November, we’re finally back in business with a big wave of holiday titles to dip into this week. Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises leads the way, along with the Sundance sensation Beasts of the Southern Wild, the found footage horror anthology V/H/S, the Oscar short-listed documentary Ai Weiwei: Never Sorry, and Yorgos Lanthimos’ follow-up to Dogtooth: Alps. The third season of Eastbound & Down also hits store shelves this week and we have quite a few noteworthy titles that are new to Blu including Finding Nemo, Brazil, Catch Me if You Can, eXistenZ and the second season of Star Trek: The Next Generation. What will you be picking up this week? Check out the full list of new releases after the jump.

Apparently Beasts of the Southern Wild isn’t out in Canada til the 18th, unless you want to buy it for 46 fucking dollars at McNally Robinson. Also: is anyone in Canada having trouble finding Catch Me If You Can? Future Shop doesn’t have a listing for it, nor does Wal-Mart, and HMV and Best Buy aren’t stocking it, at least around here. Ridic.
Posted by FDB on December 4th, 2012So we were rewarded for buying the Dark Knight Trilogy right away with a coupon towards collectibles that come with the ULTIMATE COLLECTOR’S EDITION of the Dark Knight Trilogy, coming 2013. Fuckin’ Warner Brothers…

Weird. Did you get it at Best Buy? I know when I got TDKR they offered me a free digital copy for that making of doc, which they seem to be pushing pretty hard.
