Film Junk Poll: Who is the Best Actor Known for a Moustache?

In honour of Movember, I think it’s about time we had a facial hair showdown between some of the most iconic moustaches ever to grace the big screen. In order to keep the poll manageable, I thought we should look specifically at actors who are known for sporting a moustache throughout their career, as opposed to actors who just grew one for a couple of roles here and there. How you vote is entirely up to you, whether you want to judge them based exclusively on the stache or if you also want to take into account their body of work and general coolness factor as well. As always, there are plenty of memorable mustachioed actors not in this poll, so feel free to discuss some of your other favourites in the comments below. Go ahead and cast your vote and don’t forget to donate to Movember!

If the Bond poll is anything to go by, the age of most who do these polls, will look at these actors and most probably say ‘who are these friggin’ people dude?’ Charlie Chaplin was THE biggest box office of the 20′s, Groucho a close second in the 30′s with the others brothers, Charles Bronson the 70′s but the Biggest Hairy Lip actor of the 70′s was Burt Reynolds, Smokey and the Bandit was the 2nd highest grossing movie behind some sci-fi space opera in 77′..also you left out Clark Gable!

    @2.
Nice job on pre-judging and pre-explaining

also, who are these friggin people dude?

  • patrik

Totally read that question wrong and voted for Tom Selleck. He is NOT the best actor known for a moustache though.

  • dan day

Uhh yeah where is Nick Offerman ??

  • http://www.seandwyer.net Sean

He’s on TV, that’s where he is.

Seriously though, I was going to include him but Wintle talked me out of it. Blame him!

  • Steve

Groucho’s stache was made of grease. That’s a foul.

  • Wintle

    Grease ‘stache 4-evah!

And yeah, blame me for any omissions. I shitcanned a ton of stuff.

  • La Menthe

    Tom Selleck.

  • Kasper

Anyone not voting on mr. Magnum P.I. is a fool.

  • rjdelight

Sean you look super stoned in that Movember picture, ha!

  • Maopheus

So is it moustache or mustache? My spellchecker says moustache is wrong.

  • UKMarkProfessionalCynic

So I’m right so far with my Pre-judgement, Guess anyone in the public eye gets the vote, Tom’s on TV still quite a lot, so he gets the vote (so far) Come on Charles Spencer Chaplin!!! Don’t let me down, Come on the Brit!

  • http://www.seandwyer.net Sean

Moustache is the British and Canadian spelling. Which means it’s the correct spelling. ;)

  • devolutionary

I expect Selleck to win but I’m putting my vote down for Sam Elliot. The only man on this list with a true moustache to rival Lanny MacDonald!

  • http://movievigilante.tumblr.com/ MovieViewer-Man

I voted for Burt Reynolds but my write in vote is for Tom Neyman as The Master in Manos: The Hands of Fate

  • Brendan

What, no Kevin Klein? Did he get omitted because he would shave it off for different roles?
