The Europa Report Teaser Trailer Starring Sharlto Copley
Earlier this year, a viral campaign was launched for a new movie called The Europa Report starring Sharlto Copley (District 9, The A-Team). At the time, not much was known about the project aside from the fact that it involved a group of six astronauts being sent to Jupiter’s moon Europa to explore the possibility of extraterrestrial life. Now this week a mysterious teaser trailer has found its way onto YouTube, giving us our first taste of the actual movie.
At first glance, it seems more than a little reminiscent of Apollo 18, although the imagery looks much more inspired. (Coincidentally, Copley is also starring in Open Grave, which is the next film from Apollo 18 director Gonzalo López-Gallego.) The Europa Report is directed by Ecuadorian filmmaker Sebastian Cordero (Rage) and it also stars Michael Nyqvist (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo), Daniel Wu (The Man with the Iron Fists) and Anamaria Marinca (4 Months, 3 Weeks, 2 Days). Posted by Deven Science on November 13th, 2012I have no idea what it is about, but it looks like the kind of movie I have been waiting for since Sunshine. Some nice space visuals in there. Wether it will be as totally awesome as Sunshine is more doubtful, but I can only hope. I like Copley at at least so it looks promising.
