Posted by antho42 on September 18th, 2012Is this the first 4 hour show? I think it might be!

Posted by Steve on September 19th, 20128===========D~~~~~~~~~~
Posted by kyri on September 19th, 2012Jay co-opting Frank’s woo woo as a neg. No likey.
Posted by Tum Tum Tyranus on September 19th, 2012I was concerned when I didn’t see the new show posted Monday/yesterday. But a 4 hour megathon is worth the wait. Thx Filmjunkers!
Posted by HFD on September 19th, 2012So Sean is way into Rooney Mara? I don’t blame him, she’s very attractive.
Posted by Tum Tum Tyranus on September 19th, 2012“Nothing can stop me. I just block it out like shooting free throws” Line of the episode!
Posted by Steve Kasan on September 19th, 2012Realized after recording that I forgot to mention Rust and Bone, which I enjoyed. It didn’t quite live up to the trailer, but it was still a good watch. Marion Cotillard is amazing in it.
Also, forgot to mention how obnoxious the sound design was in Here Comes the Devil. All of the audio is heightened to the point where every breath and every movement (rustling of clothing, etc.) is obnoxiously loud and distracting.
Posted by Jay C. on September 19th, 2012Note that 2 of the 5 longest episodes of FJ were ones that I did guest spots on. Glad it was a good TIFF for you guys, and glad we touched base a few times during the fest…
Posted by Kurt on September 19th, 2012Chow time!
Posted by rjdelight on September 19th, 2012What was the Rooney Mara thing? it was like Frank opened a closet and found a weird collection of pics, clipping and jars of her toenails.
Posted by Ultimo on September 19th, 2012this was awesome
Posted by jarny on September 19th, 2012Amazing length, incredible girth.
Posted by Kasper on September 19th, 2012Was Sean caught jerkin it to pictures of Rooney Mara from Girl with the Dragon Tattoo in the middle of the show… again?!
Posted by Jason w. on September 19th, 2012This was quite the anthology episode of reviews!
Posted by Glendon on September 19th, 2012You’re welcome Sean http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ey8JsdNUFqo The Rooney Mara love scene from Tanner Hall.
Posted by Tum Tum Tyranus on September 20th, 2012Jay’s criticism of the doc about The Shining brings up a key point about documentaries and how they’re judged differently than fiction movies. Docs are often praised for the subject more than the filmmaking. Film Junk (and particularly Jay) have made me realize that over the years. The docs that get all the awards and hype are only being judged by the information they present rather than how they tell a story. It’s why stuff like Anvil doesn’t get nominated for Oscars; the subject wasn’t political or “shocking.” As a movie, it was better than the docs that get nominated in that it was a well told story about interesting characters. Too often, people equate documentaries to stuff you see on news magazine shows like 20/20. It may inform you on an interesting subject, but that’s not the only job of a documentary. It should also be held to the same standards of filmmaking as dramatic films.

GREAT podcast this week. Looking forward to your premium Indy jizz-fest…
Posted by Bryan on September 20th, 2012I saw a trailer for The Act of Killing at a showing of Killer Joe, so it must have found distribution.
Posted by sansho1 on September 20th, 2012Epic TIFF episode guys, great stuff!! I would like to thank Frank and Sean for entertaining me in Rush Line for The Master!!
Posted by LaRose on September 22nd, 2012Vice versey, you gotta shpark while the griddle’s hot.
Posted by Bob on September 23rd, 2012Dammit! Usually the TIFF review pumps me up as a good pre-gaming before the release of the Philly Film Festival line-up… but it’s looking pretty lackluster this year. At least we got Cloud Atlas… !!
Posted by Falsk on September 24th, 2012Sounds like you felt about The Master how I felt about There Will Be Blood. Anyway, To The Wonder sounds cool.
