New Expendables 2 Images and Character Posters

Promotional materials for The Expendables 2 have been a little bit slow to come thus far, but this week Lionsgate opened the floodgates by releasing a couple of new stills and a whole slew of character posters. It’s pretty awesome to see Arnold, Sly and Bruce in action together instead of just meeting in a church, and Chuck Norris is looking like the uber-cool walking internet meme we all know he is. The posters also give us our first glimpse of Jean-Claude Van Damme as the film’s villain, replete with standard villain attire including a black trenchcoat, turtleneck and sunglasses.
In related news, there is already talk of The Expendables 3 with Randy Couture saying in an interview last month that they are hoping to start shooting it in the fall. What’s more, Steven Seagal supposedly claims that he has already been made an offer to star. I guess they’re assuming that part 2 is going to be even more successful than the first Expendables film… let’s hope they’re not getting ahead of themselves. The Expendables 2 hits theatres on August 17th; check out the new images and posters after the jump.
