Hostel: Part III Trailer

Hostel was one of the more successful indie horror flicks to come out of the 2000s, and although the so-called “torture porn” trend has mostly been put to rest, Eli Roth remains a pretty big name in the horror world. However, his follow-up film Hostel: Part II did not fare nearly as well, and he has yet to direct another movie despite having a number of projects in development. Still, with or without him, the Hostel franchise lives on. Hostel: Part III is nearly upon us, and even though it’s a direct-to-DVD release without Roth’s involvement, I’m at least moderately interested in it.

Hostel: Part III takes place in Las Vegas where a group of friends at a bachelor party are lured to a private function where a “perverse game of torture” is taking place. I’m not sure that the title “Hostel” really makes sense anymore, but I suppose this is at least an interesting direction to take the series in. Kip Pardue (The Rules of Attraction) stars and it is directed by Sam Raimi collaborator Scott Spiegel (From Dusk Till Dawn 2: Texas Blood Money). Eli Roth is not even listed as an executive producer on the film, which may or may not be a bad sign. Hostel: Part III hits DVD and Blu-ray on December 27th… Happy Holidays!     I wasn’t interested at first, but the trailer does seem pretty sweet, and one of the webmasters over at Bloody Disgusting apparently saw it recently and said on Twitter that he was surprised that he enjoyed it so much, so that has my interest up even more.

    Meh. Sorry but I’m done with this style of “horror”. The film ‘Martyrs’ will never be bettered. But I could be wrong, it has been known to happen.

    Thought the first two movies were kind of meh, although I liked the 2nd one more than the 1st one.

    The Saw series was so much better, even with the craptacular 7th movie.

    Why the hell didn’t they continue to explore the Company instead of making this shit?

    swarez: yeah that could’ve at least peaked my interest. this looks like the same formula they used in 1 & 2.

    also, Hostel really isn’t horror to me… its just a lot of balls out gore.
