Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance Trailer

At long last, the first official trailer for Ghost Rider 2 has finally arrived online, and although I can’t believe I’m about to say this, it most certainly does not disappoint. I think Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor have succeeded in convincing us all that we really do want to see Nicolas Cage suit up as Johnny Blaze again, and hats off to Sony for letting them have their way with this character. They have fully embraced the ridiculous yet bad ass nature of Ghost Rider, and as a result, this trailer is basically 90 seconds of CG flame effects. What more could you want?
It kind of makes you wonder how Mark Steven Johnson was able to flub the first movie so badly. Let’s face it, all he really needed was Nicolas Cage swallowing bullets and spitting them back out at his enemies or Nicolas Cage pissing flames. The only question I have now is, will they go all the way with this and allow a hard R-rating, or will they wuss out and try for PG-13? Please tell me it’s the former. Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance hits theatres on February 17th; check out the trailer after the jump and let us know what you think.

That looks absolutely ludicrous and awesome. I really enjoy Crank 2 and this looks like it will deliver the same kind of fun.
Posted by Tomoo on August 20th, 2011Yeah, this movie looks fuckin’ great! Cage has been searching for his singularly badass comic book movie and it looks like he’s finally found it.
Next year’s gonna wipe the floor with this year!!
Posted by fatbologna on August 20th, 2011It’s looks great. Except for the cliche line, “I’m not afraid of you. You should be.” I’m sure I’ve heard that in many other movies.
Posted by el ohroy on August 20th, 2011Hell yeah! Couldn’t have picked a better director for the movie. Looks like it’s gonna beat the hell out of the first one…by far
Posted by Derek McFarland on August 20th, 2011These two should be the go to guys for reinvigorating any stale franchise that a studio doesn’t give a fuck about risking anymore. It’s clear that they are all style no substance but who says we can’t dedicate a littany of films to that policy
Posted by Drewsifer on August 20th, 2011Looks like a pile of shit tbh. As did Crank 2 and Gamer. I just can’t stand the directors.
Posted by FoxMulder on August 20th, 2011I´ll watch this for Idris Elba.. Looks fun enough though
Posted by patrik on August 20th, 2011This looks crazy, I think were going to get crazy Bad Lieutenant Nic Cage in this one. Can’t wait to see it.
Posted by Gord on August 20th, 2011Don’t know about that intro from the directors. Trailer looks cool, but I’m not a fan of the digital video look to the film.
Posted by schizopolis on August 20th, 2011think this looks awesome. even his leather get up is made of ash. looks like it could be really scary when he’s the ghost rider.

Posted by paulieq on August 22nd, 2011The reaction to this has been positive. This will easily be the first big disappointment of 2012 for many.

Posted by Than on August 24th, 2011I like the first ghost rider because there his bike changed, jacket, and his skull and jacket didn’t look like it was boiling. I wanna know why u got rid of his stare. But in all the movie was good
