Colombiana Trailer
A trailer for the latest Luc Besson-produced action-fest has shown up online in the form of Colombiana starring Zoe Saldana. As expected from the writer-producer of Taken and The Transporter films, this trailer features a straightforward plot along with plenty of bullets and ass-kicking. Essentially, Saldana plays a professional assassin who has been craving revenge ever since she witnessed the murder of her parents as a child. That’s really about all there is to it, storywise. Other than that, you can count on seeing some slow-motion shots, a one-liner or two, and a good dose of Saldana showing some skin. As far as tone, think of The Professional combined with Taken and you’re halfway there.
Zoe Saldana has been stepping into Angelina Jolie territory in the past couple years with the number of action films she’s done. While she may play her part convincingly enough, I’m not as confident in the film itself. Luc Besson seems to be churning these types of films out more and more frequently and the returns have started to diminish in my eyes. Hopefully, director Olivier Megaton (great name, by the way) can convince me otherwise. The film opens on September 2nd, right after the crowded summer line-up ends. met Zoe Saldana when she was here in Chicago filming part of the movie (the train station is right up the street) This was right after Avatar and she could walk around downtown Chicago and not be recognized. she is so thin and with no make-up and gray sweats looks very heroin chic (polite way of saying ‘looks like a crack whore’).
the movie looks like Besson going back to the La Femme Nikita well. I’ll see it cause I love both Saldana and Besson.

Maybe it’s because I watched The Professional an unhealthy amount of times in my early teens. Also, for some reason Saldana looks more believable when handling a weapon than Jolie ever did. Maybe it’s a black thing…

My only complaint is the guy playing the whitest cracker doofus in the world getting the girl. Why have a romantic plot thread at all?
This guy makes me embarrassed to be white. Stick to A&F print ads buddy. There is no way he could land that woman.

Angelina Jolie filmed Wanted here and they used the building I have a storage locker in as the big factory / training facility / loom set. SHE LITERALLY LOOKS LIKE AN ALIEN!! her head is so big on such a tiny body. It really freaks you out.

Posted by patrik on May 8th, 2011this was just a teaser? It seemed longer then most regular trailers… I also feel like I just saw the whole film…
On the positive side, I think I have a girl crush on Zoe Saldana, think she should keep making movies that makes small little tiny chicks feel like they could take on the world! I feel like she is starting to be only cast in action/assasin movies (ie The Losers, etc. etc.) I hope she can land more roles to show all of her acting abilities, as much as I like seeing her take on the roughest bad boys in the world… I’ll definitely be checking this film out!
Oh PS. I’m guessing many many guys liked the shot of her sucking on the lollipop… Really did they have to throw that shot in? Zoe Saldana is hot enough they really didn’t need to beg for the men to go see it…
