J.J. Abrams and Steven Spielberg’s Super 8 Teaser Trailer Now Online in HD
If you have been holding off on watching the bootleg version of the first trailer for Super 8 in favour of a proper high quality one, I admire your resolve. Now, here is your reward… a fully downloadable HD version of the vid over at Apple.com. I guess I can now admit that I was a little underwhelmed by this teaser. I was hoping for something that would measure up to the very first Cloverfield trailer, but it’s really just more of an announcement than anything else since the movie hasn’t actually started production yet.
Either way, here’s what we know: Steven Spielberg and J.J. Abrams are teaming up for a sci-fi flick that has something to do with Area 51, and it seems to take place in 1979. It won’t be a first-person handheld style movie, and it has nothing to do with Cloverfield. Oh, and as you might expect, the trailer seems fairly simple, but there are plenty of hidden easter eggs that have already been discovered. What do you think? Super 8 is planned for release sometime next summer. I’ve added an embedded version of the proper trailer for your convenience after the jump.

I think it is a pretty solid teaser for what looks to be a rather run-of-the-mill aliens story. I am not a big fan of J.J. Abrams, but I seem to keep paying for the films he produces and directs, and they’ll probably get my $10 here too.
