The Human Centipede Trailer

I first started hearing rumblings about The Human Centipede coming out of various genre festivals sometime last year, and all of the comments seemed to imply the same thing: this is one of the most demented and disturbing horror films to come around in a long while. I had been a bit apprehensive about digging deeper to find out more about this flick, but now that the first official trailer has arrived online, I couldn’t resist. Be warned… if you’ve got a weak stomach, even a description of the plot might be too much for you. If that is the case, stop reading now!
The set up seems similar to movies like Hostel in that it follows two girls who are traveling through Europe. One night in Germany, their car breaks down during a storm in the middle of nowhere, and they seek refuge in a nearby villa. Little do they know, the man who took them in is a retired surgeon who has a unique fantasy: to construct the world’s first human caterpillar by taking captives and surgically connecting them mouth-to-anus! Apparently this is the first in a trilogy from Dutch artist and filmmaker Tom Six (the full title is The Human Centipede: First Sequence), and IFC will release it via VOD on April 28th, and in select theatres on April 30th. Will you brave such a sick and twisted proposition? Check out the trailer after the jump, and if you think you can handle it, watch a few more clips here.

Seems like an odd release for IFC.
Posted by shevchuk on April 6th, 2010Sort of, although recently they did Dead Snow, Pontypool and Anti-Christ. They seem to pick up the stuff that no one else will touch.
Posted by Sean on April 6th, 2010IFC have been putting out some really good dvds like pontypool, i sell the dead, and in the loop. I don’t know if you guys have review In The Loop but if you haven’t you should.
Posted by Chris on April 6th, 2010what the fuck?
Posted by Mike on April 6th, 2010LOL.. I cant wait for a scene where the first guy has to take a dump..
Posted by Niklas on April 6th, 2010Being the head of the centipede doesn’t seem like such a bad thing.
Posted by Reed Farrington on April 6th, 2010I wish I could unsee that.
Posted by Alicia on April 6th, 2010100% medically accurate? lol eww
Posted by Ross F on April 6th, 2010What an odd trailer. Gave all the exposition and a glimpse off what seems like all of the scenes. The only reason to watch now is to see the longer version of what we just saw.
Posted by Slix on April 6th, 2010I imagine it’s hard to make a horror trailer. On the one hand, you have to bring people in, but you don’t want to give away all your thrills.
what…the…fuck??
Posted by Mike on April 6th, 2010hmm….
hm…..
hm….
… i paused it right in the middle.. This looks Good i ll save it for the theater..
lets hope there is something more to it other than high Concept..
For some reason it reminded me of that movie… ”Teeth”
same repulsive felling i guess..
..who ever thought of this, by the way .. is one sick mother***ker..
Posted by kyriacos on April 6th, 2010@Reed..
Probably that seat is taken by the doctor..
Posted by kyriacos on April 6th, 2010hahahahaha Reed
Posted by Jonny Ashley on April 6th, 2010I was skeptical at first before I saw it but I found it to be really well made and well written. While the subject matter is disgusting it’s never exploitive.
Posted by swarez on April 6th, 2010And the Dieter Laser as the doctor is awesome. AND there is a scene where the first guy has to take a dump.
where did you saw this movie Swarez?
Posted by kyriacos on April 6th, 2010Last year at a film festival.
Posted by swarez on April 6th, 2010Jesus Christ I bet this guy wanted to do an art installation with real bodies but knew he would go to jail so he made a movie instead. By the way this was filmed with the same technology that James Cameron employed and will be screened in 3d
Posted by Drewsifer on April 7th, 2010It was great to hear the actors talk about having to be strapped to their co-actors asses for hours on end. Fortunately there were no gas related incidents on set according to the director.
Posted by swarez on April 7th, 2010Over at Movie Blog they’re bashing this movie like crazy and calling anyone who’s interested in seeing it an idiot, so its nice to see people being civil over here. This movie is getting tons of buzz in the horror community but I’m not quite sure I want to see it. Looks good but there are some movies that are just plain disturbing and this looks to be one of them. I’ve seen my share of them before and sometimes its hard to unsee them afterwards. But knowing me I’ll probably cave and end up watching it
Posted by Slushie Man on April 7th, 2010The Movie Blog is a child that doesn’t know its dick from its thumb.
Posted by Henrik on April 7th, 2010This film is in no way gory. It’s just very disturbing. And that’s why it’s getting all the good buzz.
Posted by swarez on April 7th, 2010Swarez sees all the good movies. :/
Posted by Matt Gamble on April 7th, 2010i ll be disappointed if there is no scene where the crazy(?) scientist is stitching the girls face into that other girls ass.. … ..
Posted by kyriacos on April 7th, 2010Now if there were still only 5 nominations for Best Picture, this movie wouldn’t have a chance, but now, anything is possible!
Posted by Mason on April 7th, 2010It won horror best feature at Fantastic Fest, also best actor as well.
Posted by swarez on April 7th, 2010Henrik’s post about the Movie Blog made my day
Posted by Mike on April 7th, 2010I’d say any jabs at TMB are always welcome here.
Posted by Primal on April 7th, 2010oh, i get it. they’re in germany. and the germans love their shit porn.
Posted by that motherfucker on April 9th, 2010I don’t get why the concept is scary at all. It’s almost comical, it’s like a satire of creepy horror movies by having a premise of a doctor sewing someone’s face to another’s anus that it’s so ludicrous.
Oh, and it’s some sort of scat porn movie that just happens to be filmed in Germany. For once I’d like an American film portraying a German as something other than a Nazi or some fetishist whose fingers are caked in scat.
Posted by Steve on April 9th, 2010I am really looking forward to THC. I doubt it will be released in theaters or get TV commercials but boy is this a demented concept.
Some The Human Centipede Photos:

Laugh if you want, but I honestly did not know that the plot of the movie (which I heard about months ago) involved surgical procedures connecting mouths to anuses until I read this article.
EW! Gross.
I really have no desire to see this; it just seems nasty. The clips are disturbing and the plot synopsis on Wikipedia reveals the most depressing ending! (It reminds me of some Stephen King book plot that also gives me the heebie jeebies.)
Posted by Less Lee Moore on April 20th, 2010I think the scariest thing about that trailer is the acting.
Posted by NotImpressed on May 10th, 2010I’ve seen it. Its good, better than many commercial, studio horror films *cough* remakes.

Posted by ProMovieBlogger on May 19th, 2010ewwww thats disgusting what happens is he feed the head guy food then he poops it into the middle girls mouth then she poops into the end girls mouth.. ugh D: people are so sick and twisted its ..UGH
Posted by andrew on June 5th, 2010This movie lost me with the girls going inside the crazy doctor’s house. I mean, really, if I broke down, and a demented-looking dude like Deiter answered the door, I’d be like, “Oh shit, man, I’m sorry, I thought this was Fred’s house,” and then I would go next door. He doesn’t look friendly at all. I’m sure it just gets more retarded from there. Leave your brain at the door for this one. I think I will pass this one (no pun intended).
Posted by Disgruntled on September 5th, 2010IFC always has different films that are instant classics!
Posted by Verl on December 17th, 2010eeew! eeew! eeew!
you would’nt want to watch this movie the night before having plastic surgery!!!!!
is the next part in the series called”Leap Frog?” LOL!
Posted by Pauline on January 27th, 2011Wow. That’s about all I can say after watching the trailer. I’d heard about it in my Communications class. Everyone thought it sounded sick and…they’re right. But I ended up laughing at the end of the trailer. It’s so typical that someone has this incredibly stupid idea and a really crappy script but they know someone with even worse taste and they get it made…And it ends up on IFC. Yeah. Got it. I just have to have really shitty taste in script writing and I, too, can make a film.
Posted by wendilee on February 14th, 2011verry disgusting, but for an american horror, are we surprised. same kind of sickness as the hostel films.
Posted by joanne on February 18th, 2011OMg saw this today……………..some people are so screwed huh?
Wish I could unwatch it too – it’s like 6 hours later and I still feel sick?
What happened to number 2do you think?
Posted by Carolyn on March 4th, 2011Ok. This does not bode well for the human race that a movie like this will make it to the big screen. Maybe the world should end.
Posted by Greg on May 31st, 2011ewwww what the hell is this
