Monday Morning Box Office Report: Alice Again

As expected, Alice in Wonderland remained at the top of the box office charts for a third weekend in a row, although it seems to be dropping off a lot faster than Avatar did. Diary of a Wimpy Kid was its closest competition, surprisingly edging out The Bounty Hunter with $21.8 million. Meanwhile, Repo Men kinda bombed with just $6.15 million, and She’s Out of My League rounded out the top 5. And yes, Avatar is still hanging around the top 10 with another $4 mil… that’s 14 weeks and counting.
1. Alice in Wonderland — $34.5M
2. Diary of a Wimpy Kid — $21.8M
3. The Bounty Hunter — $21M
4. Repo Men — $6.15M
5. She’s Out of My League — $6.01M
6. Green Zone — $5.96M
7. Shutter Island — $4.75M
8. Avatar — $4M
9. Our Family Wedding — $3.8M
10. Remember Me — $3.28M

This is crazy. I liked the film, but everyone else I have spoken with did not like it very much at all. Very surprising to see a movie consistently on top that nobody seems to like.
Posted by KeithTalent on March 22nd, 2010Diary of a Wimpy Kid sold out five times over the weekend at the theater I worked at, so I totally thought it was going to do Blind Side numbers. I was duped! DUPED!
