Saw Franchise May Actually Have an End in Sight
I never thought this day would come, but screenwriter Patrick Melton says Saw VII will probably be the final installment.

Not that surprising since the last one made under $50 million worldwide, which is less than half the lowest gross of any of the previous films. Interest is definitely petering out.
Posted by KeithTalent on February 9th, 2010Sounds good, but I thought they said the same about part six, and even five before that. Oh well I bet Saw will go away for awhile only to make a big comeback or be rebooted somewhere down the line. Or perhaps they could bring it back in a vs. sort of deal. Saw vs. Hostel? I would watch that movie.

Posted by KYriakos on February 10th, 2010Seven movies was the original plan. They created an overarching storyline, and it was supposed to take 7 movies to do. I was really annoyed, as a matter of fact, when they said they were going to do 8 and potentially more beyond that, because I knew it was going to dilute and harm the unique, overarching storyline that these movies have been playing out. So I’m glad to hear this, and I hope to God it’s true.
