She’s Out of My League Trailer Starring Jay Baruchel

Looks like another member of the Apatow clan has now officially made it on his own. Jay Baruchel got his big break as the star of Apatow’s Undeclared and then turned up again in Knocked Up a few years later. From there he went on to supporting roles in movies like Fanboys, Tropic Thunder and Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist. But 2010 seems to be Baruchel’s big year, apparently, as he is now headlining not one, not two, but three major films: Disney’s The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, the 3-D animated film How to Train Your Dragon, and now the romantic comedy She’s Out of My League. Unfortunately, this one looks pretty unremarkable.
Baruchel plays Kirk Kettner, an average-looking guy who works security at an airport. One day he meets a gorgeous girl who seems to be interested in him, and he can’t believe his luck. Neither can his friends. It all seems pretty middle-of-the-road and rather sappy, and as far as comedies go, there aren’t really any other big name actors to help deliver laughs. However, the script was written by the same guys who did Sex Drive and Hot Tub Time Machine, so maybe it’s not as inoffensive as it seems? She’s Out of My League co-stars Alice Eve, Mike Vogel and Krysten Ritter, and it hits theatres on March 10th. Check out the trailer after the jump.

Posted by 81 on January 8th, 2010I like these types of movies where losers get the “girl.” I thought the trailer was funny. I can’t imagine why the movie would be rated R since it seems targeted for a teen audience.
