This film, in its original state, has absolutely nothing wrong with it. The Orphanage reawakened my interest in ghost story films. I am very disappointed that there are those out there who feel that The Orphanage should be remade, or restructured for an American audience. We, as members of the viewing community, must learn to appreciate a film for all of its inherent glory. I saw this film in a theater in New Mexico when it was first released, and the fact that it is a foreign-language film does not detriment its ability to relay story. In fact, I found myself caught up in the visuals that the subtitles became more of a nuisance than anything else.
