The point of Risk is TOTAL domination. So making a movie about one war and calling it "Risk" is typical. With that game the plotlines are sort of endless. I mean, the movie could literally just be World War 3, I don't know in say, 40 years from now, every nation at war with every other nation, and that could be Risk. Many opportunities with this.

I think it can be done and well. Picture a futuristic version of the game. Where the players actually control real troops. Two story lines and multiple sets of protagonists and antagonists. The players being one set and the troops being the next.

Or simply using the game as a training tool for stratigists. With most of the movie reflecting on futility of war.

yet another, using the game as a new military weapon. Plenty of CGI with the use of robotic armies and troops to wage actual war.

There alot of posibilities here. In addition to alot of fans of the game to please. Tough bill to fill but I'm looking foward to this more than candyland or monopoly. lol

Next will be "Not Another Board Movie"...
But Go Fish and Uno are brilliant slams!
I still wonder how they will pull these off.

I'm going to laugh my ass off if the first of these board game movies bombs and the studio people start kicking themselves for buying the rights to every boardgame under the sun.

I agree sean, they could make a good generic war movie using the risk name, but that's what I don't get about these board game movies. If you wanted to make a war movie, make your own original war movie you don't have pay for a license.

There is really nothing about risk that is identifiable or iconic other than the fact that it is a fun board game that has been around for awhile. I mean there is not even an identifiable risk character like the monopoly guy, but just a bunch of generic 19th century soldier figures. They might as well make "Napoleonic wars: The movie."
