I wonder to myself all the time why is it that Mel Gibson is not reprising the role that made him what he is today. Doing another mad max movie certainly would have been the come back role he needed to get back on top and i believe that true Mad Max fans would have enjoyed seeing the man that made the character a household name do one more movie before passing the buck. I meen it's not like Mel isn't in good enough shape to do another mad max. To me thats like if Sean Connery only did three bond films and then asking David Tennant to be the next bond.

I think I proly would have preferred Sam for the role of Max. I know Terminator Salvation could have been a lot better, but I still enjoyed it; and I thought Sam did a great job. He seems ta have a rough bar brawling grittiness about him. I like Hardy as well, and think he too, could pull it off. I'm happy enough, knowing that Miller is still in the directors chair; for the franchise. I guess we'll just have ta see.

I think either Hardy or Worthington would be an inspired choice... Miller may not go the CGI route, although these days, they use it for just about everything.
I say, let's at least give it a chance before giving it the finger. It's all about the story, and since we know nothing about the story yet, it's clearly premature to make a decision about it.
All we know so far is it has the right director, is being filmed in the right locale, and has damned fine talent in it.

So it's not a reboot? And it's not going to have Max even though it's about Max. I don't know if I'll be able to get over that.

If I were to judge Hardy by nemesis alone I would say he's a good actor. He was great in Bronson though, gives Daniel Day-Lewis a run for his money. Too bad that movie sucks shit. Tom Hardy is a great new choice to try and build something around in my opinion.

Tom Hardy is a fantastic actor and very surprising choice. Good for them.
My interest just went up a notch.
Those who judge Hardy by Nemesis alone are idiots (and he was good in that as well)

Hardy is an excellent actor with a lot more class than Worthington. I'm not sure what the film will be like but Hardy will be fine.

The new just keeps getting worse and worse for me on this film.

Road Warrior: Lean and mean 4 million dollar budget, a pre-famous Gibson + no other famous Hollywood types. Very non-Hollywood. All practical effects (pre CGI era)

Mad Mad 4: 100 million dollar budget!!! No Gibson, and a world famous ultra-hot instantly recognizable movie star female co-star. Something smacks of Hollywood and CGI car crashes and Rap/Metal fusion soundtrack album tie-in type stuff.

Normally I'd be happy that they choose an obscure non emo-boy for the lead role to replace Gibson, but then they turn around and cast one of the worlds most beautiful and instantly recognizable starlets as a lead... that bums me out.

I know it's wishful thinking but I think I'd prefer a 25 million dollar budget and no famous movie stars. The franchise recognition alone would ensure huge a huge ROI.
