I imagine the first movie would do pretty well playing the right circuit of theaters. Off-topic, but when you have a receptive audience, it makes all the difference. I caught a matinee of Grindhouse at a multiplex with a friend. We were the only ones in the theater except for some guy who for some reason brought his aged mother. Found myself thinking later how much more fun it would have been with an audience full of movie nerds.
