Now that I have seen this film I can honestly say it was blooming brilliant as adrien even turned out to be masculine sounding and acting and got incredibly buff for the role…I do believe I have developed a little crush on him but even Topher grace’s performance was amusing but towards the end the fact he shows a darker side was appealing and yet disturbing at the same time. I think they both did themselves justice…there is not a bad thing to say about this film for me…I was intrigued, mortified and completely engulfed by it…IT TOTALLY ROCKED!!!!and the way it ended….sequel I hear you all say???? I do hope they continue to woop some predator butt…alto…was anyone else somewhat disturbed by the bigger predators face??face for radio lol.

I’ve seen all the Predator movies to date, I’ve even read the comic books (Dark Horse Comics, Predator). Nothing changes. Us humans are still the most bad asses in the universe.

They can’t make a new Predator movie with the same actor types as before. I mean, if they make it with Alpha males, then who wants to watch it again? If they did, do we really want to watch The Rock, John Cena, Joe the Plumber and some other dumb dumbs goo after Vagina face again? I think making the movie with skinny Average Joes would be more interesting. Brody and the other guys will play nerdy scientists going after some rare ant species in the Amazon or Gorillas in the Congo when the Predator starts hunting them down. Brody will finally kill the Alien when he realizes his piano playing ability irritates the Alien to death. Yeah, thats my prediction.

Predator was a vehicle for Arnold just as Arnold was a vehicle to the Predator. Let me explain.

Up until the Predator movie was released, Arnold had no equal on the screen. Every movie he was in, he killed everything on the screen. There was no MAN that could defeat him.
What made Predator so bad ass is that the Predator was the only thing in the universe that could possibly defeat Arnold, because Arnold was just THAT bad ass.

SCENE JUNGLE EXT DAY:

Adrian is shaving his armpits as Topher shaves his legs, another oddly feminine looking male walks up a bathrobe, holding a very ladylike drink.

Adrian : I hate bugs, they are sooooo gross

Topher : I know, for sure, I need a bath.

In the trees above, the Predator is listening, shaking his head and puts his hand over his face.
He quickly activates his self destruct device, looks at Mr. Rodriguez, and Rodriguez gives him the thumbs up.

Well my point was that he Arnold didn’t defeat him through superior strength in a dopey martial arts fight. And considering that Arnold had no real weapons or equipment after falling off the waterfall..what ELSE could he have come up with aside from the bow and trap? It’s not like he had a handy weapons lab nearby.

He was no match for the predator physically and in the end outsmarted the alien using a combination of intelligence and strength (you have to be physically robust enough to survive getting batted around and to create and use the home-made bow and such)”

While I admit that this movie DOES need more Governors, you gotta admit that the newest crop of action heroes don’t do much for box office. Randy Couture, Stone Cold Steve Austin, and the rest of the C-level muscleheads would be pretty lame in this instance. The Rock might’ve been a good Arnie stand-in but he seems to prefer standard fare. Vin Diesel’s career is in the toilet to the extent that no one will touch him. I don’t know, I think I prefer acting chops over muscles, so this seems fine to me so far. Odd that the toughest dude in the movie(Trejo) is in his fuckin’ 60s! Oleg Taktarov isn’t so bad. If Alice Braga
beefed up she could be like the Vasquez(Aliens) of the bunch(unlikely).

It’s probably best not to judge on casting alone. As long as it’s smartly written, well acted, and violently action-y all should be well. Still pretty early to tell guys. Give it a chance. Anything’s better than what they’ve been doing with this franchise lately anyway. It’s kinda like the Ridley Scott prequel thing. Some people are worried, but these two series have been long raped and left to bleed from the anus in an alley somewhere…
