It’s another packed release date as studios attempt to squeeze even more movies into theatres this weekend, but what’s surprising is that this week almost all of the movies have been getting solid reviews. Disney’s 3-D re-release of Toy Story 1 and 2 will probably make a fair amount of money, but Ruben Fleischer’s Zombieland is also expected to do quite well despite the fact that horror-comedies usually bomb. Michael Moore’s latest film Capitalism: A Love Story is finally playing on a large number of screens, along with Drew Barrymore’s directorial debut Whip It, and The Invention of Lying, the first comedy co-written and co-directed by British comedian Ricky Gervais. In select theatres we have the LeBron James documentary More Than a Game, plus The Coen Brothers’ latest movie A Serious Man, which some people are calling their finest film to date. Clearly there’s no shortage of stuff to choose from… what do you plan on checking out this weekend?

  1. If “Whip it” is in the top 3 i’m out!

  2. Toy Story and A Serious Man will be viewed soon.

  3. “Whip It” was soaked in estrogen, but I ate that shit UP.

There’s worse things in life than mostly formulaic, feel-good, girl power movies, guys. Chill.

  4. I just wanna see Emma stone naked.
