Sean Connery Is Featured In Indiana Jones 5 Script

When the fourth Indiana Jones flick was being written, Sean Connery was actually featured in the script. But as anybody who has seen the film should know, the only piece of Connery that ended up on screen was a picture on Jones’ desk and the mention of him (and by ‘him’ I mean Jones Sr.) being dead. So even though the retired actor refused to reprise his role the first time around, Spielberg and Co. are giving it another go and have written Jones Sr. into the fifth flick, even despite his death.
“Steven Spielberg has been working on a script with George Lucas and there is an element of the story that could see Sean [Connery] returning. Anything is possible in these movies and if Sean wants to return he will become central to the new story.”
So says an unnamed source about the possible involvement of the retired actor. I wonder how they will do it though, perhaps by having Jones Sr. faking his death for some reason? No matter what I doubt Connery would accept this time around either, especially seeing as the last film wasn’t exactly a fan favourite. I doubt that he would want to come out of retirement for a risk like this, no matter how big the paycheck. What do you think, should Connery make a return?

Just reboot the damn series with Nathan Fillion as Indy.

I agree 100% with that. I would rather see the series have indy in it than move to a mutt series. Which is what I hear they are trying to do. Brilliant casting.
Maybe with their current direction Sean Connery will show up in a dream or Indy will have to dig up his father to get a clue?
Posted by Big Hungry on September 21st, 2009After the last installment I hope Connery has enough sense to stay as far away as possible. But really if he returns it wouldn’t matter if the film turned out to be awesome or terrible. Sean Connery is one of those actors that some people just love no matter what he does.
Posted by Itchy-Finger on September 21st, 2009I think Sean Connery should show up in Indy 5, clasping the Holy Grail in his hands and scream, “I had it all along, you bastards!”
Mutt = Poochie the Dog.
Posted by WrongMovieMike on September 21st, 2009Two options:
1) Pull a “Temple of Doom” and make the fifth installment take place before the fourth.
2) Have Indy waking up at the beginning of Indy 5 and realize that everything in Crystal Skull was a dream.
Posted by Jonathan on September 21st, 2009How about they not make an Indy 5? Or at least remove George Lucas from it, so it can be good.
Posted by Chris on September 21st, 2009I’m so sick of asshole’s bitching about indy 4, let’s face it they have never see the first! check this out the ending was the same just with Aliens and not Ghost’s,Monkeys! there was a monkey in raiders, the truck chace was so dull there’s no way anyone can say indy 4 sucked if you did your not a fan of the film’s so stop bitch’in about them and go FUCK your Mother’s.
Posted by Machete on September 21st, 2009How’s about we remove chris from film junk.
Posted by Machete on September 21st, 2009Machete, you don’t know what your are talking about. Inarguable fact. deal with it.
Posted by Bob The Slob on September 21st, 2009Could be a flashback thing. Or like Jonathan said have the series out of order.
The 5th movie needs some more meat to it so I hope Sir Connery does agree. (It can’t be any worse than The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.)
Posted by Alicia Stella on September 21st, 2009@ Machete, I’d rather fuck my mother than have to sit through that pile of shit again.
Posted by Itchy-Finger on September 21st, 2009I agree with Itchy-Finger. I would much rather fuck his mother than watch Indy 4 again.
Posted by JY on September 21st, 2009Only if I get to watch.
Posted by Itchy-Finger on September 21st, 2009you mother fuckers.
Posted by Shut-Up Ed on September 21st, 2009I enjoyed Indy 4 even if it wasnt as good as it could (or should) have been. I look forward to a 5. I like the idea of an older Indy trilogy. If they do Indy 5, at that point they may as well cap it off with a 6
.
Posted by Captain N on September 21st, 2009Fuck this bring on indy 5,6,7 just to piss you all off!”fucker’s”.
Posted by Machete on September 22nd, 2009machete. You’re worthless. Inarguable fact. Deal With it.
Posted by Bob The Slob on September 22nd, 2009Indy 4 was as good as the first 3 in my opinion. I will continue to check out any further installments on DVD.
If even the idea of a sequel to a movie you like infuriates you, you might need to sort out your priorities.
Posted by Henrik on September 22nd, 2009God damn it! This has got me thinking that maybe 5 could be good and 4 could be later described to the uninitated as such: “meh it wasn’t as good as the ones before it but you know like Indie films are like Star Trek in reverse the odd ones are the better ones.” This isn’t going to happen but still …
Posted by Ian on September 22nd, 2009The best part of the indy movies are when the stunts and sets are real….
1st indy the whole chase part works so well. Yes both the big stone ball and the truck part at the end. The bar was set with this movie!!!!!!!!!!!
2nd indy the whole plane/raft part sucks… looks fake as hell, even back in the day It did not work…
3rd indy hum the tank part works well but the blimp and plane part does not work for me. Again fake looking.
4th indy the motorcycle chase on campus is the best action part in the movie. However the Monkey and Cliff part sucks… way too much cgi and fake as hell looking. Oh and fake monkeys with a mutt.
So if there is an indy five please just do real stunts and good effects only when needed and make sure they are good and that they make some sense… Yes I do like the movies and yes good stories help big time. Maybe I am a stunt snob but I like seeing real people in jeopardy and not a bunch of pixels.
Posted by Big Hungry on September 22nd, 2009Indy 4 was a piece of shit, just like the whole movie! Indy 5 would be the same!
Posted by DeadFox on September 23rd, 2009@ Deadfox, did i fuck you and your mother last week?
Posted by Machete on September 23rd, 2009Machete, you are worthless and you know it deep inside. Inarguable fact. Begin to deal with it…now.
Posted by Bob The Slob on September 23rd, 2009indy 4 wasn’t that bad up untill the aliens and the ancient civilization showed up. a posibility is that they could say connery faked his death for some reason to go undercover or protect a hidden secret about the holy grail being the blood line of christ. lol i’m just kidding about the last part. but seriously.
Posted by Rick on September 23rd, 2009can we please not include aliens in this one and ruin it for everyone? Seriously….
Posted by chelsg on October 1st, 2009Can this old man even get it up anymore?
Posted by Tyler Blount on October 15th, 2009its easy to include Sean Connery back into the script even though it was mentioned he was dead in the 4th movie.
We can say that he was assumed dead because of an adventure/mission he went on and never came back or contacted Indy Jr (Harrison Ford). So Indy Jr thought his dad was dead…in which he wasnt. Maybe in the 5th movie, Indy Jr finds out that his dad is still alive and goes on a hunting mission to find him. Sound good?!
