Harry Brown Trailer Starring Michael Caine
Is it just me or are there a lot of revenge flicks coming out lately, particularly ones with older protagonists? I guess it’s probably a result of the success of Taken and Clint Eastwood’s Gran Torino, although I wonder if these movies are tapping into some of the frustration that people are feeling lately. At any rate, here’s another revenge movie to add to the pile, with one major selling point: it stars Michael Caine as the one doing the ass kicking.
Harry Brown is a former British soldier who decides to take matters into his own hands when his best friend is murdered. And that’s probably all you really need to know! It seems to be a return to some of the gritty films that he starred in back in the ’70s, in particular the original Get Carter. I don’t know anything about the director Daniel Barber (The Tonto Woman), but the trailer was enough to sell me on this one. Lionsgate will be putting out the film in the U.K.; I don’t think it currently has a North American distributor. Check out the trailer after the jump and see what you think.
