		<description>I would think Variety is necessary - they still seem to break the major news and industry people like it. But I don&#039;t think many movie fans read it, as their favourite movie blog / site always repeats the Variety story. And they definitely wouldn&#039;t pay for it.

Rupert Murdoch has also said they are going to start charging for online news stories. But people are so used to free news. Will they be willing to pay for it when they can go to the BBC and get it for free??</description>
