LeBron James to Star in Fantasy Basketball Camp

NBA star LeBron James, who was the subject of the documentary More Than A Game, is about to get his first shot at acting on the big screen. Producer Brian Grazer is putting together a comedy called Fantasy Basketball Camp in which James plays himself. The story revolves around five buddies who travel to Vegas to participate in a basketball camp just so they can meet James, and end up dragging him into all their misadventures. So basically… The Hangover with basketball? You know that’s how the pitch went down.
Apparently Grazer got the idea from his 8 year old son, who wanted to meet LeBron. Great, just what we need — more producers basing movies on what their kids want. Grazer says he was sold after seeing LeBron’s comedic timing on Saturday Night Live. What do you think, could it actually work? Let’s just hope this turns out better than Shaq’s various brushes with movie stardom.
