Solomon Kane Trailer Starring James Purefoy
This movie has totally passed by me unnoticed until now, so when I first saw the new trailer for Solomon Kane, I got really surprised that it actually kicks ass! The movie stars HBO’s Rome star James Purefoy (who played Anthony in the also kick ass series) and can best be described as having placed Van Helsing into a Lord of the Rings world where he fights like he was the Prince of Persia. If this works for anything other than the trailer is yet to be seen, but judging from what is currently available, I think this will turn out to be one hell of a thrill ride.
The movie is both written and directed by Michael Bassett who has previously directed the mixed war/horror film Deathwatch back in 2002 and the horror film Wilderness in 2006. The movie will be playing (or has already played?) at TIFF, so I cross my fingers that either Greg, Sean or Jay will be watching this and then follow up with a 4-star review.
