New To Theatres This Weekend: 9, Sorority Row, Whiteout

If you’re not attending the Toronto Film Festival this weekend, there are still plenty of new releases in theatres, although the quality of said releases may be a bit questionable. Perhaps the best bet is Shane Acker’s animated sci-fi action-adventure 9, but if you’re looking for something in the horror/thriller genre, you’ve got slasher flick Sorority Row and Whiteout starring Kate Beckinsale to choose from. Tyler Perry’s latest Madea comedy I Can Do Bad All by Myself is also out this weekend, plus a handful of documentaries including No Impact Man, Joe Berlinger’s Crude, and fashion magazine doc The September Issue. Are you planning on heading to the theatre this weekend?

I just saw an sneak preview of Whiteout last night. Worst thing about it… complete waste of time. Best thing about it… Kate Beckinsale’s pubic mound.
Posted by Manateeman on September 11th, 2009I wouldn’t usually go for an animated film, but ‘9′ does look interesting. I was very impressed with the trailer for ‘No Impact Man’ – very little chance of seeing it ahead of the DVD release though.
Posted by Paul Andrews on September 11th, 20099 looks like it’ll be awesome. Everything else looks either like crap or uninteresting.
Posted by Kasper on September 11th, 2009I was totally wanting to see “white out”…. the reasons?… simple….
1 – Kate Beckinsale
2 – trailer reminded me of “the thing”…
3 – Kate Beckinsale
Well Friday it showed up with a ratting on rottentomatoes.com of 2% now it is only at 7%
ouch….
I think I will either never watch it or wait for it to show up used and fold some laundry with it on in the background.
