It sounds like Disney might finally start producing highly original animated content outside of Pixar. And Del Toro definitely has a cool visual style that seems like it would work well in an animated world. Or perhaps also to get a hold on a project to keep it away from the other guy. I'm sure that things were the same 10-20 years ago. But now it seems that filmmakers are linked to multiple projects much like actors are. But we all know that it's easier for an actor to star in 3-4 movies a year and have something like 5-10 lined up for the next couple years but for a director it's much harder because they have to be involved throughout the entire production process. These days directors don't just talk about whatever movie thats just coming out but they get asked questions about what they are doing 4 years from now as well. Blogs and sites have created such a demand for news that its just not enough for them to talk about whats happening within the next month. What's up with this new trend for filmmakers to have to get involved in a gazillion projects all at once? I have noticed this where it seems like everybody is putting so many projects on their plate that they can't possibly do them all. It almost seems like they are afraid that if they are not perceived to be "in demand" that they won't get the projects coming to them? Huh?
