On the other hand, excusing the work coming right before this one (part of taking chances is making mistakes), a strength has been developed in the body of work that is Harmony Korine’s output of the last two decades. I don't shoot dope, nor have I. Who gives a fuck what's up with the artist producing work and what they are doing to get by. Taking a closer look at his features, clean, loaded or whatever, a real artistic integrity exists. Talking shit is naturalistic, a non-mysterious impulse. On viewing the work of this artist, not mysteriously, people react in direct and vocal ways. There is more than just something to be be said for that impulse. Often people dislike this work, and enjoy disliking it.
