Guillermo del Toro Has A Surprise Just For You

The Hobbit director Guillermo del Toro has taken time off from eating working on the movies to share the wonderful news that in a few days he will share some news. Oh del Toro, don’t tease me like that you silly man, what is the news that you will share with us?
“In a few days there will be a BIG announcement (big for me, at least) that is not-Hobbit related. BEFORE anyone starts wondering the usual ‘how does he have time?, Is this detracting from The Hobbit?’ etc It is a project that started over 2 years ago, before The Hobbit and will render fruits in the mid-term, not intruding on my Hobbit duties. Rest assured. The key letter is ‘D’.”
Aha! A riddle, I love riddles! So it’ll be something with a ‘D’, but what could that be? I can’t really remember all the stuff that the guy has going on – as he really has a whole lot – but recently it was revealed that he would be producing an adaption of DC Comics’ Deadman, so could that be it? Probably not, as the project already has a director attached, that being Danish director Nikolaj Arcel. So what else could it be? Chip in with your two cents in the comments.

Vampire Hunter D seems like a good answer; but then there’s that vampire book he wrote called The Strain….

Posted by roachy on September 9th, 2009Looks like GDT is not taking Peter Jackson’s cue on being a fat director and losing a ton of weight.

Posted by AlexG on September 9th, 2009In order for fat jokes to be funny, they have to be about someone who is actually fat, which Peter Jackson is not.
Epic fail.

Posted by dt on September 9th, 2009I mentioned to Sean that your last fat joke was really stupid. Not only did you bring back a poor attempt at comedy, but this one was even worse.
Leave the comedy to the funny people and just write the stories, dude.
I’m a fat guy and jokes like that make the site rather bush league and I know I’ve worked hard to keep the site from becoming like that and Jay and Sean have worked a heck of a lot harder than I have.
Posted by Greg on September 9th, 2009I wish it were Doc Savage. That would make me happy. Particularly after the Tarzan rumor a couple of years ago. Now we may get Sommers. Dreadful.
Posted by Jim on September 9th, 2009What is it with Kasper and how the majority of his stories are trying to be funny, mostly by taking a dig at fat people. It’s not funny, it makes me cringe and I get frustrated that i have to filter through it before i get to the news that I came here looking for.
