Charlie Sheen Confirmed For Wall Street 2

The upcoming sequel to the 80’s classic Wall Street — simply named Wall Street 2 — has been shaping up for quite some time now with such names as Michael Douglas, Shia LaBeouf, Carey Mulligan, Frank Langella, Susan Sarandon and Josh Brolin. It’s an impressive cast that brings back Douglas to once again take on the role of the main character Gordon Gekko, who this time, instead of being a big time broker on the top of his game, now has to get his life back after being released from prison where he has served time for his previous crimes.

Added into the mix now is Charlie Sheen, the co-star of the original film. This time around though, Sheen will just be appearing for a minor cameo that I am sure he has been paid well for due to his success with the sitcom Two and a Half Men, which he both produces and stars in. A smart move by the film’s director Oliver Stone (who also directed the original), as securing both the leads of the original film to appear in the sequel probably assures him the approval of some of the naysayers regarding the sequel which nobody asked for. What do you think, does Wall Street 2 have a potential to be as good or better than the original film, or is Stone betting his money on the wrong stock?

  1. I think this can be good. I’m not a fan of shia labeouf so that’s my biggest concern. A new wall street movie in our current economic climate should be very diffrent from the old movie so I’m interested.

  2. Seems like a good idea to capitalize on the current global climate. I have to remain skeptical but it’s an interesting idea, despite Shia. God I hope there’s tons of “no, no, no, no” lines in the script.

  3. Stone hasn’t been good in more than 10 years and the oringinal Wall Street is less of a classic and more of an over the top silly-fest with as much boring didacticism as Michael’s Moore post-9/11 productions.

  4. Too bad Shia Laboef has anything to do with this project, that little over actor will ruin this film.

Too bad Shia Laboef has anything to do with anything.

  5. I have to say I never thought much of the original Wall Street either.

  7. I think with the current economic greed and Bernie Madoff’s recent indictment and being sent to prison, YES there would be room for a new WALL STREET, based on GREED, which seems to run rampant today on all fronts. I do not know why those doubt Shia Labeouf, I don’t care one way or another, but having Charlie Sheen and Michael Douglas on board is important. Could prove very interesting if handled correctly.

  8. Nice.
