Rambo V Officially Gets the Go Ahead

While it comes as no surprise, it’s still exciting news nonetheless: Sylvester Stallone is officially moving forward with a fifth Rambo film. Variety reports that Rambo V has now been greenlit by Nu Image/Millennium Films, with Stallone returning to write, star and direct, and production is scheduled for the spring (around the same time that his new film The Expendables hits theatres).
Although there isn’t all that much else to report as of yet, we do have a brief synopsis of the story, which confirms that John Rambo will return to the good ol’ U.S. of A. Apparently he will be fighting to rescue a young girl who is abducted by human traffickers and drug dealers near the U.S./Mexico border. Sounds like a good enough reason to have a large number of limbs flying and heads exploding. Are you excited about another Rambo movie, or do you think this will be one too many?

If I remember correctly, this was the original plot for the recent Rambo. I thought that sounded like it could be pretty damn sweet.
