Christopher Nolan’s Inception Trailer Starring Leonardo DiCaprio

While it may only be a mere hint of what’s to come, this teaser trailer has already got me pretty damn excited for Christopher Nolan’s new movie Inception. It was attached to prints of Inglourious Basterds over the weekend, and it is now online at Yahoo! for all to see. The plot is still very much a mystery, but as the tagline says, “Your Mind is the Scene of the Crime”. We see some flashes of strange imagery, and then a brief clip of a struggle in a hallway where gravity is apparently shifting around the combatants.
As I mentioned on the podcast, there are definite echoes of The Matrix here, and since we know it’s supposed to be a sci-fi action film, it seems that the mind will likely serve a surreal battlefield where anything goes. Count me in. As far as I’m concerned, Christopher Nolan can do no wrong, and every time he goes off and does a Batman movie, he comes back with another spectacular piece of original work as well. Inception stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Ellen Page, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Marion Cotillard, Cillian Murphy and Michael Caine, among others. Need I say more? Inception hits theatres on July 16th, 2010; check out the first trailer after the jump.

Wow now that’s a teaser!
Nolan + Leo + Ellen Page = awesomeness!
Posted by modesilver on August 24th, 2009Tim Burton is to Johnny Depp as Christopher Nolan is to Michael Caine.
Posted by Mike on August 24th, 2009Great, great trailer. Can’t believe I’m excited about a movie for summer 2010 and this summer isn’t even over.
Sean have you seen The Prestige yet? I seem to remember you saying on a podcast that you hadn’t.
Posted by Stepen on August 24th, 2009Oooh. Looks very good. Love the music in this trailer.
Posted by Swarez on August 24th, 2009This wasn’t in front of my Inglourious Basterds you bastards!!1
Posted by Ryan M. on August 24th, 2009I saw The Prestige when it first came out in theatres and I loved it. I believe someone just asked if it had ever been discussed on the podcast, and for some reason, it hadn’t.

Posted by Bob The Slob on August 24th, 2009I like how Nolan uses some of the same actors that he’s cast in his previous movies but throws in new people like Leo C. I think though he needs to quit using Michael Caine so much. I mean he’s a great actor and all but give someone else a chance!
Posted by Maopheus on August 24th, 2009Not really sure what’s going on but love that beating music or sounds.. whatever you wanna call it
Posted by Niklas on August 24th, 2009Yes Sean it was me who asked about Nolan being discussed in your podcast. I really hope and wish you will have a special about him in one of your future podcasts.
Posted by Shawan on August 25th, 2009Well, based on this trailer, I can’t excactly say I’m not excited. My favorite director, the director of Memento and the masterpiece The Prestige is ufcourse something to be excited about. I’m still not sure it will do better then any of his previous (except for Insomnia and The Dark Knight) movies. Me not liking Cillian Murphy and hating Ellen Page is probably the reason why.
But still, I’M FUCKING EXCITED!!
FUCK THIS MOVIE!
Posted by jaime on August 25th, 2009is jaime a gimmick poster or something?
Posted by Goon on August 26th, 2009Teasers like this with very few images or story cues don’t do anything for me. I’m a big fan of Nolan and DiCaprio so I’m pumped for the movie, but not by this teaser. Nice effects though.
Posted by Glendon on August 26th, 2009This looks like it will be fantastic. I expect Christian Bale to make a cameo. On a side note, I myself, have had frequent fantasies of what it would be like if the center of gravity shifted to another part of the earth or away from the earth all together(for whatever reason.) I have yet to see a bad or mediocre movie by Chris Nolan.
Posted by Matt on August 26th, 2009The Matrix-like sequence is probably because Leo’s character is dreaming on a plane. The fuselage is like a hallway! I don’t know! Hell, I just want to see the movie! Now! “Tiny” Kongslie Portland, Oregon
