My favorite of the three shorts was Merde. I liked it so much, in fact, that after I'd finished watching the entire film I immediately skipped back to the beginning of Merde and watched that segment again. I loved how bizarre and mysterious it was.

My second favorite was Gondry's segment, and my least favorite was Bong Joon-Ho's. Whereas I found the end of Carax's film intriguing, I just found the end of Joon-Ho's confusing. I enjoyed the premise of Shaking Tokyo, but not so much the execution.

Yes, now that you mention it, I did wonder what was up with the menu when I first popped it in. Didn't really give it a second thought though.

I had to skip the Merde segment. It was so annoyingly ambiguous and pretentious. I got tired of it and had to hit the skip button by the interrogation scene. Interior Design was awesome though and the last one started out great and kind of fizzled out by the end but they're both worth seeing. I just couldn't stand the middle segment.

You didn't notice that the menus on the BD were in SD? I actually ejected the disc to make sure Netflix sent me the right format.

Nice review, Sean. I saw this in the theater a few months back and can imagine how good it looks on blu-ray. Michel Gondry's segment was my favorite. The scene where the boyfriend screens his movie is pretty damn funny, and I agree that the ending is absurd, yet poignant. To me, the following two segment's didn't live up to Gondry's. Merde seemed to drag a bit, and I couldn't really get into the Joon-ho's segment for some reason. All three shorts were pretty gorgeously shot, though.
