Trailer Park Boys 2: Countdown to Liquor Day Movie Trailer

tbp2trailer

Although I’m not a fan of the Trailer Park Boys, I feel that in some strange way that it is my duty as a Canadian to post about their second feature film, which is coming to theatres this September. Yes, this is Canada’s contribution to mainstream cinema… deal with it. (Okay, and we also have Bon Cop, Bad Cop.)

Trailer Park Boys 2: Countdown to Liquor Day is not a direct sequel to the first TPB movie, but rather a conclusion to the TV series, picking up where the final episode “Say Goodnight to the Bad Guys” ended. Ricky, Julian and Bubbles are about to get out of jail, and Julian has every intention of going straight… unfortunately, things don’t always go according to plan. The movie will premiere at the 29th Annual Atlantic Film Festival on September 17th; it hits theatres throughout Canada one week later. As for the rest of the world, I’m not sure, but does anyone else even care? Check out the trailer after the jump.

  1. There’s a poster too: http://www.impawards.com/intl/canada/2009/trailer_park_boys_countdown_to_liquor_day.html

  2. I’m part of the ‘rest of the world’ (US) and this is great news! It made my day.

I can’t explain it, I dont usually go for low-brow humor, and every season/movie is essentially the same thing but I still love TPB.

Can’t wait until September, hopefully it shows up in Seattle.

  3. I’m in the same boat as Stefan, I’m sorry but I just love this show, perhaps it’s just the hazy memories of sitting in my house in college chuckling away for hours at the stupidity of the whole thing but it will always have a fond place in my heart, definitely going to see it.

  4. love this show too, I think it dwindled a little in later seasons but I enjoyed the last movie and this trailer looks pretty good

  5. I became a fan later on. I thought it looked stupid at first, but when you actually sit down and watch a few, you start to realize that it’s a really, really funny and well written show (in a comedic sense).

  6. Sweet! I look forward to seeing this in the states. TPB is sort of my guilty pleasure, lol. Just can’t help but watch; I love dem boys, & it is a very funny show!

  7. funniest freakin show ive eve seen.

  8. This the best show ever, I just wish it had more airtime in the U.S. if it did it would be a top hit here. The only place to see it is on direct tv channel and on dvd.
Everybody I talk to in the States says they never heard of it. Is the movie going to be released in States? Or will I have to go to Canada.

  9. We are starting to tailgate down in North Carolina already. We could fill up half a movie theater just from neighbo(u)rhood. If doesn’t get released down south we’ll have to charter a plane to Canada just to see it!

  10. I am so happy! I really hope that it realeases U.S. I have started quite a following through my DVDs amongst friends and co-workers. Taking a trip north at the end of September if this only releases Canada.

  11. What !! I am soo excited what are you talking about bud everyone loves the trailer park boys!!!they are super hillarious :)

  12. A group of us are going over to Victoria BC to watch the movie just like we did in 2006 when the first one came out.

  13. Man , we just got TPB down here in the US this year , and i honetlsy dont know how ive lived this long without it . This is the best damn show ive ever seen . Absolutley cant get enough of it . I hope like hell the run this movie down here in the states . And PLEASEEEEE BRING US SOME MORE SEASONS ON TV!!!!!!!!!!!

  14. Thank God, some uncensored Canadian comedy from the great white north. As an American, i’m tired of the south of the border bullshit they’ve been feeding us down here since the Clinton’s, Bush’s, and Obama’s New World Order censorship on everything took over in the 80’s. Me and my brother will cross over the border at Windsor(Detroit) on Sept 25 for sure.

  15. Every time I watch this show I sit on my couch and laugh out loud, can’t say more than tha!

  16. I really love this freakin show
cant wait tell i watch the new movie
    peace

  17. I really love this freakin show
cant wait until i watch the new movie
    peace

  18. My husband and I both love Trailer Park Boys!! They would be so much bigger in the US if they were properly promoted. Just by airing thier shows on the 101 channel they have a rather enormous following, so just imagine. I really hope that they release this movie in the US at some point, we really want to see it!!

  19. First off, why are you writing about them if you don’t even like the show. I’m a Californian and I think TPB is fantastic. The film was kinda weak but the show is great. I’m thankful they have it all over google videos so I was able to watch all the episodes. I’m glad they are making it like the show and not like the movie.

  20. this will rock so much

  21. This movie has nothing to do with the TV series as you stated. ‘Say Goodnight To The Bad Guys’ is the follow up to the first movie. Really is a trilogy. TPB Movie, Say Goodnight…, Countdown to liquor day. Of course if you actually watched any TPB, you would know this!

  22. I love the it! Keep on doin wat your doin boys it rocks.. Is J-Roc in it? or is john-o out??

  23. I AM THE LIQUOR!

Let’s hope for some US screenings and/or a speedy dvd release.

  24. I just discovered this show recently and haven’t stopped laughing since… not quite the same with oot corey and trevor tho

  25. TPB is Like The Office rated R…

    Great Great Great Show.
i hope the film goes mainstream and they make a new one each year

  26. As a Canadian im glad to see so many Americans actually like this show! It’s a shame it has to end. Pretty sure i’ve watched every episode. Even the original movie when Ricky and Julian were cat exterminators.

  27. I just learned today that the premiere is around the corner and, honestly, I’m extremely excited. I think TPB just hit it HARD. No barriers, nothing politically correct, no inhibitions, just quirk, liquor, dope and kitties. It’s crazy and hilarious. Can not WAIT to see it.

  28. Am I one of the few Canadians that doesn’t like this show?

  29. yeah,AND you’re canadian.
    Fail.

  30. ^lame

  31. This show is amazing, the characters are awesome and the haters are lame. Go watch fern gulley or whatever you do in your spare time and let the real people watch the good shows

  32. Also I am an American who has bought all the dvds and the movie. I would kill to have this released in US theatres

  33. Did you know that Rob Wells’(Ricky) father worked for the RCMP as a forensic specialist, and that the show was actually loosely scripted and more ad lib. How genious are those actors!!! Rob Wells (Ricky) and John Paul Tremblay (Julian) both have their degrees in business and co-owned a successful pizza restaurant chain on Prince Edward Island. Mike Smith (Bubbles) has his degree in English and was a guitar player in the fairly successful band Sandbox. He was a sound mixer for TPB and would do his Bubbles character for people on set. Thank God Mike Clattenburg hired him on as an actor full-time eh? And Barry Dunn (Ray, Ricky’s boozing dad) is an award-winning producer, practicing lawyer, and an executive producer of the show. This show is syndicated all across the globe and is on twice a day in Victoria, BC. I can’t wait to see Countdown To Liquor Day!!! I’m so hooked.

  34. I am so pissed off that US theatres arent going to carry this movie. Being a born citizen of the United States, I would officially like to tell US to FUCK OFF! I will never again pay to go to a movie theatre and watch a movie, in addition I am going to download pirated copies of every movie i can and redistribute them openly. Fuck you MPAA!

  35. I’m from West Virginia and I attended the world premiere of “Liqueur Day” in Halifax (and the party at the Metro after!) and as a fan of the TPB I would defiantly say I thought the movie was very good. My impression of the movie was that it played like Three Trailer Park episodes from the TV show joined together, the first part of the movie is average the second part is above average and the last segment I would rank as one of the best TPB episodes ever (outstanding) So, if you’re a rabid fan like myself then you should defiantly go see it in theatres, and you will defiantly want to add it to your collection when it comes out on DVD.

  36. This is a really, really funny show. Good news indeed.

  37. I am from the US abnd LOVE TPB. Discovered it early this year on Directv. Bummed that the movie won’t be released down here. Hopefully the DVD will be released soon!

  38. this is probably best thing mankind has ever created way better than the invention of the wheel or anything i could not live without this.
its the best when you have the blues alone or just bored its like every time u watch it it feels like it is the 1st time as there is so much init.
trailer park boys is the new religion and we should all follow as this show alone will safe the world let let terrorist watch it as once they watch it they will realise u cant end the world just incase you fuck it up for the show.

  39. Wait… so this isn’t coming to the states? Man…

  40. Here is your tpb link, enjoy!

every episode! Canada rocks. Recognize. :)

  41. http://www.tvduck.com/Trailerpark-Boys.html

  42. Hey everyone , im from dublin ( ireland) and a massive fan of the trailer park boys , but countdown to liquor day will never make it to ireland :( anyone know where i can watch it online , or download it ( ill pay to watch) just wanna see it ..

  43. I am also from West Virginia and a huge TPB fan. My g.f. and I are going to try to stay with friends in Newmarket, ON around the first week of Feb. if I do not get denied entry again. Will this movie still be playing in theaters then? I know 14 weeks would be a long time for a movie to run, but I REALLY want to see it on the big screen. Sometimes in the States they still have “dollar shows” where the theater plays a movie a month or so after the release date for only a dollar or two. Is there anything like that around Keswick or Newmarket area?

  44. New TPB fan, but only because of YouTube. The Rickyisms slay me every time! Can someone please explain to me WHY the new movie will not be distributed in the U.S.? Not enough sex and violence for the censors? Don’t tell me it’s the language for #@$%* sakes!

  45. HUGE FAN OF TPB! I’ve seen every episode and every extended episode and movie at least 4 times each. On July 1st/09, Canada’s birthday, the TPB was on for 24 hours straight. I just saw Countdown To Liquor Day and it was very funny in parts. The opening was fantastic then lulled a bit, but then the second half on was crazy funny. I must admit the dvd would be just as great on a big screen TV in the comfort of your own home (wink, wink). So if it doesn’t play in a theatre near you, pick it up on dvd, and enjoy at your leisure.
“Get two birds stoned at once”

  46. What songs are played in the movie???

  47. this is all new to me but it looks uproariously funny!! Good on Canada…x

  48. I’m actually surprised all you americans understand this type of comedy. it’s pure, simple, honest. unlike your country. you’re welcome.

  49. Does anyone know where I can purchase say goodnight to the bad guys

  50. Also is countdown to liquor days and say goodnight to the bad guys on the same dvd
