greg’s “squirter” comment goes into the awkward hall of fame.
Posted by Mitch on August 4th, 2009I was pleased to hear Jay continue the discussion on my question about Martyrs from a few episodes ago. I think I’m still disturbed by that chick getting punched in the face for about 15 minutes straight.
Posted by ToeFu on August 4th, 2009That prank call was hilarious. Salad Days?
Posted by Shaun Hatton on August 4th, 2009Interesting Funny People review. It really was quite good, but that is one movie where it’s near impossible to predict whether a person will like it or not. The next three weeks are going to be good shows. G.I. Joe next week, District 9 the week after that, and then Inglorious Basterds? Nice.
Posted by Neil M on August 4th, 2009Martyrs is directed by a French dude but is produced in Quebec.
Posted by Swarez on August 4th, 2009OMFG Jay. Just because someone doesn’t like a movie you like, doesn’t mean you have to make big fucking argument about it! Atleast accept Greg or Seans opinion for once. I sometimes love you talking about stuff, but i sometimes also hate your ‘’superior” attitude.
Posted by Cumonass on August 5th, 2009That comment was to your discussion of Funny People. I said this before i listened to the rest of the podcast.
Posted by Cumonass on August 5th, 2009unable to tell when someone is joking?
Posted by Goon on August 5th, 2009The Funny People’s viral marketing actually really hurt the film for me. I got caught up in watching all trailers and the stand-up bits and I really saw a lot of the jokes coming in the film.
Greg needs to readdress his view of Aziz Ansari as he was the only comedian in the film that really developed a whole character and backed it up with original material – Raaaaaaaandy! Greg if you haven’t watched all of Aziz’s videos on the website for the film you are not giving him a shot.

You guys didn’t mentioned the funniest bit in the film – Andy Dick’s response to how the f*ck he could have 3 kids!
The Girlfriend Experience was good and I don’t see how Sean forgot the hasidic jew sex scene at the end of the film – classic in concept and Sasha’s ass.
Posted by rus in chicago on August 5th, 2009Whole character? He was in the movie for 30 seconds. He’s also not very funny. I don’t think I need to readdress anything.
Posted by Greg on August 5th, 2009dude, do you know about acting? you develop a character and then you are filmed in scenes. the level to which an actor develops a character has nothing to do with how long his character makes the final cut. if you see all the work he did in on the website you would get what I mean. all of the other misc. comedians attached to this movie were doing their shtick, Aziz was asked to do a send-up of a certain type of comedian and he did a really good job.
Posted by rus in chicago on August 5th, 2009Here is a cool Mirror’s Edge style video you guys have to check out.

I think I saw that video of that canadian on Fallon. Her name is Emmanuelle Chriqui who is on Entourage. Amazingly Hot.
Oh, I think you like Robin Hood because he likes to steal from the rich and give to the poor. Just like how you gave $20 to the poor the other week.
Posted by Pr1mal on August 5th, 2009I disagree with you. I don’t think he’s very good.
Posted by Greg on August 6th, 2009I find Aziz Ansari hit or miss in both sketch comedy, acting, and stand up. He was good on Flight of the Conchords that one time.
There are a number of good young standups coming up right now, Aziz is considered one of them but for my money people should really check out John Mulaney. Saw him in Toronto on the Sarah Silverman gala and he probably had the best set of the night, even better than Louis CK.
Posted by Goon on August 6th, 2009Greg, I believe your dislike for Aziz Ansari is based on racial profiling and in our country that will get you a beer with the President! Cheers!
Posted by rus in chicago on August 6th, 2009Was I the only one weirded out by the Greg-under-a-bookshelf question?
Posted by Falsk on August 6th, 2009I was weirded out by that.
Posted by Greg on August 6th, 2009Goon read what i wrote:
That comment was to your discussion of Funny People. I said this before i listened to the rest of the podcast.
When they were discussing whether or not fart jokes and things like that were funny or good in the movie, Jay wasn’t joking. He was doing his annoying and known ”I’m better then you, and therefore cannot accept your opinion about the movie, which i will protect to the dead” attitude.
Posted by Cumonass on August 6th, 2009“That comment was to your discussion of Funny People. I said this before i listened to the rest of the podcast.”
I understood that completely, however it was very obvious to me without having to listen to the rest of the show that Jay was joking. I thought it was extremely apparent.
Anyways, I finally caught Funny People and pretty much feel exactly as Jay and Sean, not all that funny but a very fine film nonetheless.
Posted by Goon on August 6th, 2009â€I’m better then you, and therefore cannot accept your opinion about the movie, which i will protect to the deadâ€
Im pretty sure the man that loves Trashy Horror movies and Kitchen Nightmares dosen’t think he’s better than anyone. ;D
Posted by Drew on August 6th, 2009Nah, I love Gordon Ramsy and trash horror and I’m a total fucking snob.
But I don’t get comments like COA’s. Strong opinions make for a good show. Who would listen to some bullshit where no one says anything substantial because they’re too busy tip toeing around eachothers feelings.
COA, are you the REAL CumOnAss. I want you to prove it in some way.
Posted by Rusty James on August 6th, 2009*listening now*
Jay, as a modern as the show is now, Dr. Who still wears the same outfit every week. It’s more or less expected by fans of the show. His companions, on the other, seem to have a full wardrobe.
