I just wanna see an H.R. Giger world… with all of his freakish looking alien creatures, with Scott Directing.
Don’t think the first movie (or any of them for that matter) would have been as scary without Giger.
I’m in!

Just do not use all digital sets and try not to explain everything like the force is really small micro organism that we can have a relationship with. Keep things still a mystery!!!!!!! But that being said I do want to see it.

I always thought the aliens were scarier specifically because no one knew where they came from. Sure, you can kill them and survive if you’re lucky, but because you don’t know where the source is you’ll never be entirely free of the fear that they’ll come back.

They’re kind of like demons in that someone will always accidentally release them, or intentionally seek them out, because there’s no way to destroy the source once and for all. If a prequel shines light on their actual origin it would be like revealing the demon’s true name and rendering it powerless.

On the other hand, if the prequel just took the formula of the existing movies and told the story of another alien infestation that just happend to occur before the ones we’ve already seen, then it would preserve the mythology. I don’t think we need to see the alien homeworld or anything. They’d be scarier if they couldn’t be linked to a specific time or place.

This prequel is a terrible idea b/c giving the creature an origin is goona ruin it, but having Scott direct gives me some hope, but even the original director for Indiana Jones directed the fourth film and it was still terrible.

It all depends on what the premise and plot is. I don’t think it’s destined to be garbage but I’m not sure that there is necessarily much more that can be filled in about the Aliens. Or at least much more that we’d want to see. I was really disappointed in AvP as I thought it could have been awesome if the premise was different. And of course none of that dopey Predator and Sanaa Lathan lovefest.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagggggggghhhhh I want this to be good, but alas, like the up coming RoboCop remake it’s likely to be utter garbage. Entertaining garbage, but garbage afterall.

MCL
