Weekly Poll Results: Best Tim Burton Movie

pollresultstimburton

There were plenty of responses to last week’s Tim Burton poll, and in the end it was Ed Wood that just barely beat out Edward Scissorhands to take the top spot as his finest work to date. I can certainly understand how many would rank these two the highest, followed by Beetlejuice, although I do think Pee-wee’s Big Adventure is a little underrated here. And as much as I expected to see Mars Attacks down at the bottom, I was hoping a few more supporters might come out of the woodwork. Now for the all important question: how would Burton’s Planet of the Apes remake have fared in this poll?

1. Ed Wood — 19.9%
2. Edward Scissorhands — 18.1%
3. Beetlejuice — 14.2%
4. Big Fish — 13.7%
5. Batman — 13%
6. Pee-wee’s Big Adventure — 8.3%
7. Sleepy Hollow — 6.2%
8. Sweeney Todd — 2.8%
9. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory — 1.8%
9. Mars Attacks! — 1.8%

  1. I despised Peewee’s Big Adventure. I actually puked my creppe midway the film and I didn’t finish it. My idea of Hell would literally be being tied down to a chair ala Clockwork Orange being subjected to that film and generally Peewee’s comedy over and over. I’ll be good!
Voted for Batman, by the way, Jack Nicholson is amazing in that movie.
    2nd choice Beetlejuice, ’nuff said.

  2. pee-wee’s is his best movie. they just keep getting worse.

  3. I never see whats soo amazing about Nicholson’s version of The Joker, to me he seemed too much like a cartoon character than anything, and no I’m not comparing it to Ledger’s performance.

  4. Why isn’t Batman Returns in there. In my opinion it outdoes the original. My personal top is:
    1. Ed Wood
    2. Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street
    3. Batman Returns
    4. Edward Scissorhands
    5. Sleepy Hollow
    6. Corpse Bride
    7. Mars Attacks!
    8. Beetlejuice
    9. Pee Wee’s Big Adventure
    10. Planet of the Apes

  5. The Joker was supposed to be cartoony and over the top in that first movie and he just created a great, iconic character imo

  6. Well it didn’t work for me.
