I've heard that, aside from transfering it to 3D, they are also using new shading-techniques and such with the re-rendering to make both movies look better than they originally did. And you can be sure that those crisp new versions will be heading to BluRay, so that's something to look forward to for all the 3D-haters.

I'm sure there are plenty of people who feel the same way you do. Unfortunately I think they will only be re-releasing it in 3-D.

Are they gonna only show the movies in 3D? Because Toy Story is one of my all time favorites, and I just think 3D is complete garbage! Not only do i see less details in 3D glasses, the brightness of the movie (which really is a important thing in an animation movie) gets darker.
Did i forgot to mention that it also makes my eye hurt, and gives me a headache?

I wasn't originally planning to check this out, but they may have sold me on the double billing... Though I'm curious to see how that'll play with fidgety kids.

The public also pretty much ignored the last major studio double billing in "Grindhouse," which underperformed (supposedly) because of the long running time.

So I'm interested, but may have to strategically choose a show-time with the least potential for crying, seat-kicking children.

"Grow up, I'm trying to watch Toy Story!"

I'd go see it, both films are pretty short, never saw either in the theater, and I have far less issues with 3D when I already know the film very well. Ie the Nightmare Before Christmas in 3D was a great experience.
