So far, I’m not impressed. I’m not a big fan of let’s keep it secret until the last second plan. I can think of quite a few movies that suffered from that. As for the “I am going to blow your minds kiddies” thing… I think not. Just by saying that this will revolutionize everything and you will rue the day that you didn’t see it, sleeping in tents for 5 weeks prior to the midnight opening. That just makes me want to hate it. As for the reviews. Lest we forget that he debuted this in front of a sea of fanboys hoping for another Terminator. Cameron is capable of fantastic work. He is also capable of believing his own hype.

The response from Comic Con wasn’t as fantastic as people thought it would be. I guess the hype was too much. People were saying that the CGI in District 9 was better than this.

As for the designs. Cameron designs things that might actually work and doesn’t go balls out to fantasy land like Lucas and co.

I do not think Avatar will be as good as they say. I think the CGI will still look CGI and I’m not sure this will hit as big as the studio hopes. But I can be proven wrong and I hope to be proven wrong.

I have to admit that, like rus in chicago, I also think the design is weak. That style of mech design was good for the Power Loader; but today its generic. Hopefully that preview comes near my city so I can really see whats up.

the design I’m seeing is weak – Cameron seems to get stuck on certain engineering ideas and repeats himself. at least Lucas would play around with different ideas and concepts and that was in one film franchise. There appears to be concepts here repeated from aliens and terminator concepts.

This really irritates me. For a movie that comes out in less than 5 months, you’d think they can show the general public (those non fanboys who weren’t able to drive all the way to comic con)an actual picture or two. And after this build up, there is still no trailer!
