Why make these cartoons live action at all. Why not make adult oriented animated updates instead. I never watched Transformers, G.I. Joe, Voltron, Robotech hoping that someday hollywood would make live action versions of them that throws out everything you enjoyed about these shows when I was younger.

After Transformers and GI JOE (yeah, only saw the trailers) I'm not so excited by this.

If this movie is made, it should only be actual beginnings to set the story. No fucking prequels 5 years from now. Get a feel for effects and story line NOW! Like how they choose their obviously young pilots. Midichlorians anybody?

Robotech OR Macross? Yes, that would be a good movie or maybe a good live action mini-series. For Voltron I think the key is that they make it fun. This is what I feel they should have done with GI Joe. Like Greg and Jay said on the podcast a handful of episodes back, just get some actors and throw on the costumes of the cahracters and set it in the 80's and have fun with it like an 80's action movie (Firewalker, Delta Force, etc.) For Voltron you got giant robot lions they are super (and thus functionality is out the window) as such the goal should be something that is great specacle and a real throwback to adventure/sci-fi movies. They do this well and it will be awesome.

Remember when many people thought Cloverfield was Voltron?
"I saw it! It's huge! It's a lion!"

After Transformers... I just do not know about this movie and I actually think GI Joe may be better than Transformers 2.

I still think Robotech would work better and fell more real than Voltron and Transformers combined. Maybe it is that the robot designs seem more functional.

Damn straight! I mean Voltron is not just an 80's cartoon it's also Go Lion a super robot 80's Anime. And those aren't just giant robots, they are giant lion robots. If you're doing Voltron; you've got to set it thousands of years in the future with a Galaxy Alliance and Planet Doom and Robeasts and all that. I swear if they set it on present day Earth with a handful of D-bags finding acient robots then that will be sad ... and also Power Rangers, which this is not.
