Trust me fat bologna, if you are familiar with the details of this story then you can be sure it doesnt give half of the story away. There is actually an interesting This American Life episode devoted entirely to this story (made in 2000). I would check it out if you dont mind having the movie spoiled for you a bit, but I think you’ll find after listening that you can see how there is a lot more to the story than just a few plot points covered in the trailer. Im pumped.

I can’t wait to see this one! There’s a LOT that this trailer doesn’t give away. You’ve got until Oct, so I’d highly recommend reading the book. Maybe I found it so intriguing because I took a job with this exact company Whitacre worked for shortly after the collusion & money laundering trials had ended. It was surprising to see how well connected that company was (politically & otherwise), which I wonder if any of that will actually make the movie. Surprising it’s going out as a comedy, though. . . either way – I’m looking forward to this film!

It’s funny, but you can see in the trailer that the studio feels it’s too smart. The trailer is FAR too long and gives WAY too much away in it’s effort to get the tone and plot across. It looks good, but I feel like I’ve already seen the damn thing. Soderbergh is always an interesting filmmaker in his successes AND failures. He’s been pretty diverse and prolific in his output through directing AND producing over the last few years and any time I see his name I know it’ll be something to watch. BUBBLE was a great little media experiment and his GIRLFRIEND EXPERIENCE seems equally interesting.

Definitely gonna give this one a look!

Looks good. Referring to Damon’s stache of course. The movie looks good too. And look! Buster Bluth! October is shaping up to be quite the month for film.
