I’m a big fan of Jon Favreau-written and/or directed comedies, especially Swingers and Made which also starred Vince Vaughn. This style of comedy is not for everyone but I’ll definitely check it out at some point. Faizon Love makes me laugh too. Plus, it can’t hurt having lots of easy-on-the eyes ladies in bathing suits a-la Forgetting Sarah Marshall.

I did not find the trailer funny. It will take a tidal wave of critical acclaim and recommendations from friends to get me interested in this film. The days of going to see a movie because Vince Vaughn is in it are over.

Maybe it’s just me, but it seems with comedies you can just tell so much more from the trailer. I can’t say that any one element of the trailer for Pineapple Express or Step Brothers had me laughing enough to make the movie a priority, but the general feel seemed more substantial, or at least held the promise of more humor than say Sex Drive or Miss March.

And ya know, even though I didn’t like The Breakup, Vince Vaughn had some funny bits. It’s this way in a lot of his films lately. He was the best part of the painfully awful Fred Claus. But I’m not glad I watched Fred Claus, I’m angry about it. I’ll skip this one and save myself the task of picking out the one or two funny Vince Vaughn bits from a 109 minute steaming crap burger.

all the guys in this trailer (including director) are friends off screen – it looks like an organized plan to get a few free months on a Caribbean Island..good for them!!

I have always liked Vince Vaughn. As of late I admit I don’t say that looks hysterical, I really have to see that!
I will give the movie a chance though by renting the DVD. Island couple fun sounds good and I did chuckle a couple of times watching the trailer. I try my best to not waste my money by seeing a movie that may or may not be a bomb.
