Daybreakers Trailer Starring Ethan Hawke
Oh goody it’s another vampire movie! But wait… this one seems to be at least slightly different. The year is 2019 and the human population has been almost completely wiped out by vampires. With their blood supplies running low and human race on the verge of extinction, the last remaining survivors team up with some rebel vampires to try and save mankind.
Daybreakers is written and directed by The Spierig Brothers, who were responsible for the Australian zombie flick Undead. This looks a bit more restrained and it’s bound to attract comparisons to the Blade and Underworld franchises, but I’m hoping the sci-fi elements will make it more than just a straight-up action or horror flick. Ethan Hawke stars, along with Willem Dafoe, Isabel Lucas and Sam Neill. Daybreakers hits theatres on January 8, 2010; check out the trailer after the jump and see what you think.

Posted by 1138 on June 26th, 2009This looks like a pretty huge leap in quality from Undead. That film was freakin’ TERRIBLE! Maybe it was just the broad Aussie humor that didn’t work for me. But yeah, prettily interestingly keepingly an eye out..ly.
