Yeah, this looks pretty damn cool and infinitely interesting. After reading Joe Eszterhaus' book on screenwriting and what it's like to deal with the wily Hollywood folk it IS pretty apparent that they're the most trodden folk in the biz (besides the PAs of course!). I LOVE me some Carpenter and could easily listen to the man talk for HOURS(unfortunately he's lookin' even sicklier than usual)!

This looks like yet another case fore the creative minds behind film against the execs who constantly marginalize and bastardize their art for the sake of profit. It's actually pretty depressing to hear about so many scripts that start out amazing before being passed on to 5-10 other writers to rewrite into the ground.

count me VERY interested!

Yeah, that is John Carpenter. Movie looks interesting, but it also doesn't stand a chance in hell of being picked up. Hopefully they choose to self-distribute.
